Eaton Hotel, Birmingham
Very Good8.0
Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced
This is a very utilitarian hotel, not many frills, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the sheets crisp and well-ironed. As is quite common in older English properties, the rooms had a strange layout and had to be reached via multiple stairs. The elevator was out of order the entire 3 days I stayed there, but the staff were extremely helpful and carried my luggage to the room. Breakfast was included and was of acceptable quality, as was the dinner I ordered one night. I can't say that the hotel itself or its location had much charm, and indeed it seemed to cater to business travellers who needed a (not so expensive) place to stay.
