Fading fast
This has been one of our favourite places to stay while in transit throughout Cancun. Although the grounds/common areas have been given a facelift, the rooms are fading fast. They are really run down, to the point they feel dirty even when they're not. The past few stays we've had to ask for maybe an extra towel or a bath mat etc. This time, there were 2 bath towels, nothing more. There was a coffee maker, but no cups. This will likely have been our last stay

Don't trust the photos, the rooms smell bad with mould, the plumbing fixtures are hanging off, the pool is full of drinking/ drunk mexicans from midday and empty bottles/cans everywhere that sometimes get cleared in the morning. Don't give them your credit or debit card, only pay cash, trust me.

Do not stay here! Don’t fall for it.
My experience at Hotel Plaza Caribe was extremely disappointing. The lack of cleanliness was evident throughout the premises. The rooms were plagued by horrible humidity, making it uncomfortable to stay in. The shower was infested with mold, and the towels provided were clearly used and unhygienic. It was, without a doubt, the grossest place I have ever stayed at. I strongly advise against choosing this hotel.
