A good choice for a modest budget
Great location; helpful front desk for a tourist; nice view from the window of the narrow old town street. Only problem was no water preasure the last day (no shower; no brushing teeth, etc.) Upon checkout were told that there was work on the plumbing on the street. It would have helped to know that the night before so we could have showered then.

Decent hotel near Gotic area
Decent hotel in the middle of the Gotic area. It is very close to las Ramblas and the Liceu subway station. Decent size room and bathroom with a great shower. The A/C is controlled at the reception, so make sure to tell the attendant to power it on when you check in, we did not and we suffered a night with no air conditioning. Would recommend this hotel for its location since it is located nearby where all the action is in Barcelona.

Bugged out in barca
This hotel was in a great location and looked nice inside the room. The reason for the low rating in cleanliness was the fact that we were eaten alive by bed bugs. I received too many bites to count.

Fine if you're looking to be in the busy mix
This was a good spot in the middle of everything. It was loud at night, but that's what we were looking for - the busy nightlife of Barça. The room was big enough for three of us with single beds, but it seems we had the biggest room in the building. The staff were very nice. We had trouble with our scanner on the door, which they never bothered to fix like they said they would, but they gave us one traditional key to us. The shower flooded each time we used it. The wood frame around the inside and outside of the door was rotting off. We alerted the maid about the water leaking and there was no attempt to fix what seemed like an ongoing problem. We paid extra per day, per person, to get the breakfast (only 3€ each). It was mostly warm yogurt, toast, and packaged muffins/croissants. I took a cup for tea but didn't drink it after I realized the cup was dirty. We just stopped eating/drinking anything not in a package that could be unclean or spoil. I'd recommend skipping the breakfast and going to one of the many local options outside the hotel.

Nice Stay
Hotel staff was helpful and accommodating. They let us lock our luggage on two occasions, when we arrived early and so we didn't have to carry it around before out flight. Initially we had a room that smelled of smoke (it's a non smoking hotel, but unfortunately not everyone follows rules), and we were quickly switched to another room. The location was nice for us, right off La Rambla and near the market. Also close to a nice plaza with really good restuaurants.
