The Omega in Paddington
The Omega hotel has recently been refurbished and it shows. My room had almost no signs of wear. The bathroom was cramped but serviceable. No complaints but a note for other travellers: there is no lift (elevator for those in the US) in the hotel, so guests must take the stairs to reach their rooms. The stairs are steep and actually get a bit narrower towards the 4th (top) floor. If you're out of shape or have difficulty climbing stairs then you may want to request a room on the ground floor. There are all sorts of things to do in the area around the hotel: Canary Wharf is to the north; Hyde Park is just to the south; the number 27 bus will take you quickly to Camden Town. Overall, I liked the Omega and would stay there again.

Great find
We stayed at The Omega over New Year's Eve for two nights and had a great stay. The room was spacious, incredibly clean, and the front desk staff (Christo?) was welcoming and very gracious. The hotel is well situated, just steps from the tube and restaurants.

Solid small hotel
Ideal location near Paddington station and among many other hotels on this block. Offered a clean and spacious room with easy access to London sites and attractions.

Clean and friendly
We were just in town for a couple of days and wanted to stay near Paddington for convenience getting to and from the airport (Heathrow Express). Hotel Omega is one of a large number of brownstone hotels (more like bed and breakfasts, in a way) all in a row on Sussex Gardens. I can't speak for the other hotels like it, but we found this one to be very clean, in good condition, and the staff very friendly. There are few frills: no elevator, an older-style spring mattress, small bathrooms with no tub. It provides the basics at a great value, and as a "home base" for exploring the city — especially if you're traveling light or on a budget — it's perfect.

Great location, kind service, basic room
The location is extremely convenient if you want to stay near Paddington: it is a 3-minute walk. The reception is very kind, always willing to help. The room is quite basic but clean: bathroom is about the size of airplane bathroom. It's not the kind of hotel where you'd want to lounge around: it's just a comfortable bed in a convenient location.
