Fair 4.0
Waste of money - real picture vs hotels.com pic
Looked for a cheap room and got a 4th floor walk up ... disaster ... more than I bargained for . Not sure the hotel is to blame as the advert on hotels.com was the reason I chose . No mention there of the look, size of room, nor the fact that I would have to walk up 4 floors with luggage...the room was a small, 8m2 I know this only after I received a confirmation booking... it was cheap for London $92 including taxes ... honestly I didn’t expect much but what I got was ridiculous . 4th floor walk up with luggage . A single bed, a bathroom/shower or 1.5m2 disaster ....

Very basic small room. I can live with that. Exceptionally small bathroom

Sweaty Nights
Hotel has no A/C, no elevator. Small fan and windows were the suggestion in 90+degree weather. Desk attendant was very nice but manager was uncooperative. Would not reccommend!

Good value
Cool location, close to shopping, restaurants, and Paddington station. No lift, so be prepared for stairs, but comfortable bed, clean room, and lovely little breakfast.. Good value.

Poor 2.0
Terrible overall. Not even a 3 star.
Avoid this hotel. Standards of cleanliness not met. We were there for 4 days. Our room was never cleaned, only towels were exchanged (1 per person, per day--no other towels). The bed was made, but no fresh sheets. Carpets were never vacuumed, etc. Dirty dishes were never taken out of the room or refreshed. There was also a 'sewer stench' coming out of the shower. Hotel acknowledged stench and told us to keep the drain in the shower closed to avoid it. There is no air conditioning at this hotel. You can open windows, but due to its location between buildings you get no breeze. Further, the windows drop down from the top. To get the air, you have to keep the window shade up and therefore let in the light. They provide a fan, but you can't hear the TV over the fan as the volume is locked. We never slept well. The rooms are stuffy and hot. Lastly, the manager is very rude. He said he would store our luggage and thought it reasonable for us to leave it in front of the check in desk. So anyone checking in or out would be standing next to our luggage. He didn't want me to put if off to the side or behind a chair--but right in front of the desk. A few times I came into the lobby and nobody was at the desk. They are not always there. I was super uncomfortable about this and after I argued with the manager, he never talked to me again the rest of my stay. GEORGE is the only highlight of this hotel. There are hotels all over London. Stay somewhere else.
