Great location
Pros For the price, great location, quiet, fantastic breakfast, friendly English speaking reception, wi fi. Cons. Refrigerator didnt work and i had insulin that needed refrigeration. They put it in their kitchen so it was ok. A/c not working but we were told city ordinence doesnt permit a/c that late in the year.

Hotel Donatello
My room was extremely small though possibly a byproduct of the special discount I received from Hotels.com. 2 main concerns: 1- there was an scent in the room as if extra room freshener was used to cover up some other odor. 2- Most concerning was the black mold I noticed in the seams/corners of the shower.

Central location but freezing room made me ill
I was visiting family in Bologna, for 4 nights, before Xmas.I chose this hotel mainly for its central location & reasonable price. The decor needed updating and although the sheets and bathrooms were clean the carpet in my room was very stained. The first couple of nights I was cold but I just put thermals and a jumper on.The bed was very comfortable but then I came back to find it had been replaced and the new mattress was really hard. The pillows were good.Considering the hotel's located on the busiest street in town the outside noise was minimal but inside the noise travelled with moving furniture, pipes and voices. There was a kettle provided but the plug was taped up..very dangerous! I also had to move it so it could reach a socket. There was no milk but when asked the staff provided this. A TV but no English speaking channels and WIFI was only free in the hotel lobby. The worst thing however was the room temperature. On the 3rd night there I was freezing so I phoned reception and was informed that I couldn't control the heating from my room but it would come on automatically in half an hour...It didn't! I explained to staff in the morning and she did offer to change my room but I had to do it straight away and I couldn't as I had visitors arriving. She did provide me with 2 very old woollen blankets. When checking out I said that I felt I shouldn't pay for the 1 night, her attitude changed and she said I had to pay. There was no manager available. Two weeks later I'm still ill
