Lovely stay.
We were slightly early for check in and, apart from thee not being enough Reception staff to deal with the arrivals, once we had checked in our luggage to collect later check in eventually was friendly and efficient.
Dinner service and quality left lots to be desired. The soup was thin and probably no seasoning never mind under-seasoned, the wine was expensively very ordinary, the calamari was quite a large portion and was delivered with just a dip and no garnish, the menu stated that the steak doesn't come with chips, we got chips (we don't like chips particularly) and they tasted stale, the salmon salad was delivered without salad and, after the waiter apologised and would have it "delivered in two minutes" by the time it was delivered (over fifteen minutes later) it was over-cooked and dry and the other party had practically finished their steak which was pleasant if under-seasoned. The salad with the steak was very small and somewhat tired.
The staff didn't appear to have a clue!
Breakfast, however, was in total contrast. Apart from being buffet style rather than cooked fresh there was plenty of choice. The toasters are always very inefficient and slow but the staff were very friendly and attentive.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Marriott again but dinner arrangements will be made elsewhere which is a shame because when we had dinner a few years ago the quality was excellent with a good wine list which is what should be expected at a Marriott!
