Perfect location to explore Cusco
We very much enjoyed our three nights here. Carlos, the owner, provided us with amazing service, a great breakfast every day, and was always available to help us. The room was large and clean and the perfect location to explore this amazing city.

Second home indeed
Carlos is a wonder and made the trip to Cuzco a delight. He runs the place well and knows the city like a collection of maps. I always wish more places would have conditioner, but that's the only thing I can say. And with service like this, I can bring my own conditioner

Carlos was absolutely amazing and we loved our stay in his home! I cannot recommend this place highly enough! We got caught up in the strike in Cusco and Carlos was more than accommodating. He was willing to call the rail line for us and gave us great advice on how to handle getting to and from Machu Picchu. Additionally, I'd highly recommend staying there if you're coming back through as he kept our larger bags and was happy to place them in our rooms upon our return. The location is great, too! You're just far enough away from the plaza to avoid the noise, but you're a 3 minute walk away and less than 10 minutes from the main plaza. When we return, we will definitely try and book Second Home Cusco again!

Unfriendly business practice!
We arrived in the morning, tired and cold, waiting in the cold courtyard, and realized that the room wouldn't be ready for a couple of hours. My boys needed a bathroom and were told to use one of bathrooms upstairs. They ran down, telling us that the toilette was overflowing. I ran up to check and saw that water was constantly flowing out of the toilette. We sat in the waiting area, trying to figure out how to best use the waiting time and saw the toilette water leaking down. We hastened to move our things and got drips on ourselves here and there. I booked a separate night after our Amazon trip. Because the Perurail had a problem to get us back to Cusco from Machu Picchu on time, we had to postpone our Amazon trip for a day. I asked in less than 5 minutes of their cancellation time one week ahead of check-in to shift our reservation forward one day (and there was room availability), but they insisted on charging us the penalty of the full night stay!
