Four nights in Bangkok
This was our first trip to Thailand. My husband chose all the hotels and he gets credit for finding this one. Everyone there was fabulous; so friendly. Unbeknownst to us, we booked a 'club member' package when all we wanted was a room with a view and breakfast; this included afternoon tea, cocktails and appetizers, as well as breakfast; the room also had a kitchenette. Perks were a nice treat though we could not use them everyday because we were out and about (a pricey option if you are not going to use it - especially since, we paid more than twice whats advertised today). The view from the room at night was amazing. The breakfasts were fabulous - a great start to the day. The pool is lovely; and there's a gym - we didn't use. The boat shuttle to the main pier was well run (note: the higher end hotels all seem to offer this same service) - we took it daily. The service at afternoon tea and cocktail hour was very attentive - what a pleasure. Even upon check out - staff arranged the cab, told us the expected price, & gave us a card if there was any trouble to call. We felt well taken care of. It is a high rise, so there will be a wait for an elevator. As mentioned by others, there is construction next door; we were facing that direction with a river view (we were not disturbed by the construction though a little unsightly).

A Very Comfortable Stay
I was extremely pleased with my stay at the Chatrium Riverside Hotel. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. I found the reception staff extremely helpful and friendly. I appreciated the 2 reception staff who accompanied me to my room to see that everything was as it should have been (I stayed there twice on the same trip). The pool is great, and the pool staff very efficient. The perfect expression for this hotel is "excellent staff and facilities". My room overlooked the river, and it was great sitting on the terrace watching the traffic on the river. The views were wonderful, and one could sit just watching the river traffic and feel relaxed and calm. The frequency of the boat that takes you back and forth to the skytrain is certainly adequate, and being given a schedule was a good idea. The breakfast buffet was superb, and the staff aimed to please. The concierge staff is also helpful and efficient and made sure taxis used their meters instead of charging whatever the drivers wanted to. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bangkok. It's the kind of hotel that is like a resort, and you don't feel you have to go out every day while staying there, especially if you've been to Bangkok many times, as I have, and don't need to see all the sites of the city again.

First off i cannot say enough about the breakfast buffet. It was exquisite and you can tell the head chef takes pride in the service as i noticed him frequent the stations to ensure everything was displayed appropriately and adequately stocked. It was amazing - definitely a little something for everyone. It was amazing to try delicacies from different areas around the world. What a treat. Only criticism is that at times it gets very very busy and if you had a large family like i did you are seated outside of the main restaurant... now that is not the problem at all as i actually prefered to be away from the crowded area however it seems they forgot us a lot and would struggle to find someone to pour us coffee . The hostess also seemed too busy conversing amongst each other and at times felt awkward as i could tell they would spend their time making fun of their guests as opposed to serving them. Very young staff and management could spend some time in that area and address their lack of professionalism... now the room. The first leg of the trip we stayed in a river view 2 bedroom suite which was stunning and spacious. Immaculately clean and adequately stocked for our family of 6. Room service was quick and efficient. We loved the room so much we decided to book the hotel again during the last leg of our trip that brought us back to bangkok. Second room - city view 2 bedroom was not as nice and cleanliness was not as great as inour first room.

Always my hotel of choice in Bangkok
Stayed here many times. The views up and down the river are wonderful (make sure you book a river rather than a city view, facing South is best - there is building next door to the North), the staff friendly and helpful and always remember my name. The Club is well worth the extra cost, nice drinks and really good food, (forget the need for dinner afterwards). A few bumps and scrapes in the décor but nothing serious. Rooms are large and usually come with a little kitchenette. The free shuttle boat to the metro system is useful and actually a pleasant evening round trip without getting off. The Chatrium was happy to store my golf clubs between two stays while we did a side trip to Vietnam. The location is the upside and also the drawback. Walking to the central attractions of BKK is not really an option, the shuttle/metro is slow and taxis can mean a bit of a wait in the early evening - the hotel seems to have a policy of turning away taxis that want a fixed price of say B300 to the centre and only allowing the honest metered ones (about B100). Commendable policy but you do get queues. Breakfast on the river terrace is a delight. Airport taxis are well worth pre-booking via the hotel - large vehicles, arriving on time to the minute, no tolls, no tips, all for B700. Overall a splendid hotel for one night or for a week with a respite from the madness of BKK. Perhaps visitors for 2 or 3 nights that want to explore BKK might be better staying in the centre.

Excellent hotel near the Chao Praya river
We stayed for 4 days when we visited Thailand in December 2016. It was a very nice experience. It was our first visit to Thailand so we booked this hotel solely based on reviews on Expedia. The hotel itself is on the Chao Praya river. The immediate vicinity of the hotel is not very neat and clean, but we really didn't explore it on foot much, so I can't really comment. The hotel itself is superb. They staff was really friendly, the rooms were spacious and comfy and the breakfast was magnificent. We really enjoyed the breakfast options. We ordered room service dinner on a couple of days and the prices were reasonable, although the portion sizes were pretty small (this is something we noticed throughput Thailand, nothing to do with the hotel) compared to American standards. They provide a boat service to the nearest major terminal from where you can catch boats to other attractions along the river, or catch the subway to other parts of the city. They have a 7-11 (a convenience store) and a Starbucks nearby. Overall, I would say if you want a nice, clean hotel that's not in a very busy part of the town and don't mind catching the boat or the subway to get to where you want to go, this is a great option. We would definitely stay there again when we go back to Bangkok in the future.
