The biggest benefit to this motel is it's proximity to all the hiking and downtown area. Beyond that, the room smelled strongly of bleach and cleaning supplies, the window in the bathroom wouldn't close, the bathroom wasn't ventilated, the only chair in the room was broken you the point it was dangerous to sit on, and the whole building is in need of repair. There is rust everywhere, on the stairs, the curtain rods, the doors, and many worn holes in the baseboards/walls. Even the hot tub was tepid at best. It's affordable, but that's about it.

Baby Quail is a good hotel at a good value. it look like a small two story apartment building. Rooms are clean and nice. Nothing fancy, but good. pros: great location in central Sedona, near grocery stores, shops, etc. cons: the bed was awful, so soft in the middle that my wife and I ended up in the middle no matter what we did. other: check-in is on a machine about the size of a small stand-alone ATM. You talk to a remote agent who gets you logged in, gives you the room key-pad code to get in the door the persons' English was poor, so I had to ask him to repeat every sentence over and over to understand. So there is no manager or clerk on site. We didn't need anything, so it worked out. And apparently housekeeping is available thru the remote person via the computer in the office.

Great bang for you buck

If you’re looking to trim some fat in your budget and still be comfortable, I suggest this place. Sedona can be a bit pricey, so I really appreciate have options like this! We flew into Sedona in a C-172, so its distance from the airport was much appreciated.
