Great place for the budget minded traveler
It is a perfect location due to my business with the arts. Close to the pick-up and drop-off from the airport bus # 747...and to the metro station each a block away. plenty of restaurants of all prices, and clubs/bars for those who enjoy nightlife. One has to remember that this hotel is in an historical building thus no elevator, stairs only. Great complimentary continental breakfast with fresh baked croissants and many other items.

Convenient spot to walk around
Super convenient location and the room was clean. Would definitely stay again when I come back to visit the beautiful city.

short stay
Accommodation was ok, but hotel creaks every time someone walks by and is in a night club area, so expect noise at night. Room was clean and service was great, and it's location was excellent for what I needed for 2 nights.

I was disappointed with the unavailability of elevator at the place. It's a very bad place for any traveler with luggage because there is no help in carrying them upstairs.

Affordable Hotel in the Heart of it All
The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It's in the heart of the Entertainment District of Montreal. St. Catherine (the main artery of this area) is literally the street this hotel is located on. It's a few short blocks away from Chinatown and an easy 10 minute stroll to Old Montreal. There is a Metro stop one block away and the 747 bus (which takes you to and from the airport) also stopped just a block away from this hotel. Additionally there is a HUGE grocery store (IGA) about 2 blocks away. I was glad to have had the room with the full kitchen to take full advantage of being able to make my own breakfast every day. So that you're not surprised, it should be said that this hotel is next to a sex shop. But this was a non-issue. The neighborhood is very safe and full of tourists and locals enjoying the street fair that was going on on St. Catherine and the surrounding blocks when we were there. Sex shop and all, this hotel is at the heart of the happening part of town. The staff was nice and friendly (particularly, Sammy, who was a pleasure to chat with a little as we came and went). The only obvious "budget" elements of this hotel were the harsh soaps and scratchy towels- typical of budget hotels. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to friends and would stay here again if I had the opportunity to return to Montreal.
