Chiang Mai - De Naga Hotel
Great location in the Old City. Ability to get around to all parts of the central area easily. Breakfast was included in our stay which was excellent and changed each day.

Great location and Great Hotel
Great hotel and very friendly staff. My one complaint would be the breakfast was cold every morning. tough to eat cold pancakes...

Pleasant Stay
My stay was not without faults but I do not criticize those who try to provide first class service in third-world locations. Probably the best part was the tour desk, not directly connected with the hotel but competent and friendly service for three private tours I booked. Breakfast was fine once I discovered where the juice, fruit and pastries buffets were located. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Walk-in shower was large; I did not use the large tub. Refrigerator was available for milk and juice bought at 7-11 a block away. Room safe was easy to use. Neither here nor there: Pool is laughably small and hours are only 7am to 7pm, but if you come to Thailand to swim, go to Phuket. Downside: There are more dogs in Thailand than I expected, and fewer leashes. None on the hotel grounds, but the barking from adjoining alleys may annoy you at night. Also, in many years of travel this is the first place where a door handle decoration has torn a hole in my shirt sleeve. The Naga is a serpent, and the metal fixture has a sharp point. Be careful. (I asked if anyone was available to mend it, but it was a holiday weekend.) WiFi was spotty, sometimes it helped to power down my phone and power up again; this did not happen in some remote locations elsewhere. Summary: I saw many other hotels in town, but none that made me think, "I wish I had stayed there instead."
