Great hotel - but hard to get to town
Phi Phi Island Village was lovely. The pool area was beautiful and it was nice to have our own little bungalow. One thing I will say that we somehow missed in other reviews is that you can only get to/from the hotel by boat to the main pier (about a 30 min ride). If you'd like to get to town you have to take the resort boat which stops running at 4pm and is 200 bht per person each way or pay for a taxi boat. It would be nice if the resort boat ran later so you could get dinner in town, and/or was complimentary. We did a booze cruise one night and paid 3000 BHT ($100 USD) to get home via taxi boat which is insane expensive relatively. The later it gets the more expensive the taxi so beware. We returned around 10pm so if you're looking to enjoy the nightlife you will be paying a lot. You can also walk through the jungle to get to town which we did once and it was quite difficult (took about an hour up and down a mountain in the jungle on a narrow path). It is nice that the resort is remote (much more calm than in town), but we just wish we knew this piece of information! There is also a small village behind the resort that has some restaurants and bars with a bit of night life for another option but it is not the same as going into town. Otherwise the resort was peaceful (great for honeymoon), clean and had friendly staff. Love the live entertainment during happy hour and the spa was great too.

Good
I listed Pros and Cons there are lots of both
This is a really difficult review as I am so torn. You really need to factor in what you want. I have listed pros and cons based on my experience of a couple who enjoy a bit of adventure but on this occasion were looking for the pool and cocktails experience in a hotel that we paid a lot for so had high expectations. The things they do well, they do really well but the things they don't do well they really stuff up. Some items are l listed as both a pro and a con for reasons explained. Pros - Located on the quiet side of the island so didn't have the noise and hectic part the the other side has. It's a 30 minute boat ride from the main town. Rooms are wonderful and clean and well equipped. Staff are friendly and usually helpful. Cons It's a 30 minute boat ride to the main town and the cost is 6 Euros each person each way. It is really quiet with not much to do unless you sit by the pool or beach. Diving is expensive 220 Euros per person for the day. The rooms are a long way from the beach even though we upgraded to a deluxe room. There are lots of rooms and they all look the same and they are spread over a large area. After 5 days there we still got lost every single time we tried to go anywhere so it took about 15 minutes to get to the beach. It's like a maze trying to get around. The staff are always on their phones and not paying attention to customer needs. Everything is expensive including the village nearby. Much cheaper on the other side of the islan

Cute resort with full service
The reason why we came to this resort just because we always wanted to visit Phi Phi islands. Although it states 4 star hotel, I would not surprised if it has 5 stars. Everyone is on the resort always smiling, polite, friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Ocean front jounior suite and the location was pristine! The villa has plenty of room and two of your own decks. With deal when we made booking, mini bar was free and high tea was served everyday (although we missed two of three days since we were not on the villa. But you can request once you get back). With turn down service, you can request room fragrance, bath salt and aroma oils. Even on the tour (we did 1 day island explorer), plenty of drinks were provided and lunch was good too. Overall, I found this resort so generous even though it’s remote resort and every staff makes efforts for guests to be comfortable and welcomed. Only minus aspect was spa. The setting of spa is beautiful but therapists may need to be more trained. They were so welcoming and nice but the quality of massage I unfortunately have to say a little bit below than average. Plus, I am not sure if I was informed prior to arrival, but when you go on tour or get transport whilst it’s low tide, you have to walk a bit to the boats. So prepare yourself to be wet to the height of your knees or hips depends on the time of the day. But including everything, I really liked the resort and beautiful beach. Would like to come back again.

Paradise with unprepared staff
Probably the most beautiful hotel we were during our trip to Thailand, the worst service on the other hand. First of all, the layout of the resort is a maze. It is quite common to see new guests getting lost trying to find their rooms. There is not a proper indication, especially to lower level accommodations. Second, during the 5 days that we were there they did not replace the bar soap that we used, we had to call twice the reception to get new soap. I cut myself in the riffs during a snorkeling swim in the second day of our staying. During the night, we noticed that the sheets were stained with blood, so we did not select the option of replacement of the sheets. What the housekeeper did was inverting the side of it, so we just noticed that the blood was facing down. We asked again to change it, and again the same thing was done. The most important thing for them is to know the room number that you are. Anything (even simple questions) are answer with another question..."What is your room number?"... It is quite annoying and most of all, unnecessary. There is also the overpriced costs of everything. The English problem (nobody can speak a thing outside the lobby, not even in the restaurants)... So, after all, I would not recommend this place. You are just a number and the island itself is beautiful, you don’t need to be in this hotel to be in a nice place. The place is reserved and a paradise, but it is hard to enjoy other parts of the island staying at the resort.

Girlfriends birthday at Koh Phi Phi
Getting to the resort: Took the speedboat option over the ferry. Everyone seemed to be slightly sea sick but it was the most convenient option for me. Staff was great, provided sacks/waters and protected luggage with garbage bags. Bungalow: I went with the deluxe. Comfy bed, super clean, great shower with a safe. Covered all angles. Activities: Pool, plenty of room to tan and chill, messages (Hot stone). Took out the complimentary Kayak for an hour each day - great times while my girlfriend tanned. We also booked water sports experience online and had an amazing time. Deff would do it again. Food: We ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel which I thought was a little pricy for Thailand. I live in Manhattan so I don't mind it, but the service was pretty bad. However, they have this little village adjacent to the resort which offered better food and service - The Oasis bar was the best. Leaving the resort: Took the speedboat to Kata beach which saved a lot of time, staff was great, protected luggage, provided drinks and snacks - saved time, but everyone didn't seem to be feeling well. Overall: Resort was an epic experience. Crystal clear water, 30 min long tail to pier, remote enough to escape tourists, but still take advantage of Phi Phi Don.
