Wonderful hotel and staff
The hotel staff was beyond kind and helpful. I couldn't imagine a more pleasant and attentive staff. The hotel grounds were beautiful and calming. The walking street market was right t the hotel entrance. Perfect location.

Loved the Tamarind
Staff is very well trained, friendly and helpful. Problem with our first room which was a superior room with no window. The rest of our stay was in a base level room which was the same size, design as the superior but had a window. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The central tamarind tree was magnificent. Gift shop was high quality. Location was great. Loved this hotel.

Charming in Chiang Mai
The staff at the hotel were all excellent. Everyone went out of their way to make you feel welcome and help with anything needed. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The food is wonderful. Don't miss the Sunday night market right out front.

Wow in old Chiang Mai
Loved the Tamarind Village which is built around a 200 year ole tamarind tree in a great location in the old city of Chiang Mai. The standard room was beautiful and nicely appointed. If you felt the need for a mosquito net the staff came in and set it up. We were one night in a deluxe room which did not have a window. No need to upgrade here. Nice breakfast buffet. Unbelievably friendly and helpful staff.

Highly recommend Tamarind Village!
WE spent five days here while we toured the Chiang Mai area. The hotel is on a main street where the Sunday Night Walking market is held, which was very fun. There are many temples, restaurants, tour companies and shops close by. The grounds are very quiet and our room was quiet and comfortable. There is a nice pool and the breakfast each morning was quite extensive with both Asian and Western items available. We happened to be there when a fabric art show opened on the hotel grounds, so everything was decorated beautifully and a nice (hotel guests invited)cocktail party was held in honor of the artist. My husband and I had massages in the spa which were amazing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, seeing to our every need. The only negative was that the tours arranged through the hotel were very expensive. I would recommend booking outings to elephant camps, cooking schools, etc. directly with the provider or through one of the many tour brokers on every street. We did do the complimentary walking tour of the area provided by the hotel and it was excellent. Also, be sure to take advantage of the $4/hour massages available at the temple next door or one of the many massage businesses up and down the streets.
