Secluded Upscale Feel
We booked this hotel as a stop between Glencoe and Edinburgh and it was certainly nice but it was a little more out of the way than I realized. This would be a great place to go for adults wanting a romantic retreat I think but for my husband and I and our newly 1-year old we felt slightly out of place. The hotel has an upscale vibe to it especially in the dining area and service was a tad slow - nothing to complain about typically but we were in a bit of a rush to get our child out and to bed. Reservations are a must, we couldn’t get in until late and there is not much else around for food unless you want to drive a bit. Everyone was very nice and the hotel and amenities were as well, but I think I would only come back sans children.

Stunning Location
Stunning location and lovely hotel with great facilities. Room very spacious and comfortable - apart from the bed! Hubby had an awful night - me not so much so, mattress/bed problems rolling to the centre. Real shame but hopefully an isolated incident as we would like to visit the area again.

Faulty Towers?
The location is great. But as of July 2017 the hotel seemed to be understaffed. So when you ask for something don't expect it to be taken care of which is a pretty sad comment for a highly average ranked place. My guess is that is was great in the past but not so now. Even the spa doesn't have proper massage tables!?

Lovely Hotel
We loved our stay at MacDonald's Forest Hills. The building and grounds are absolutely beautiful. Our room was large, immaculate, and had a fantastic view of Ben Lomond. The shower was the best we had in a 16 day trip. Hated to leave the shower. The hotel is way off the beaten path, right on the shore of Loch Ard. We really enjoyed the hotel restaurant, too. Breakfast is amazing - you can get pretty much anything you want. We were there 3 days and ate dinner in the hotel restaurant every night. We don't normally do that, but the food was very good. The highlight though is the service. The wait staff are very professional as well as genuinely helpful and friendly

Lovely Stay in MacDonald Park Hotel
Loved the location - would come again to be on the quiet lake and beautiful gardens. The carpet in the rooms needs to be replaced as it was worn and not tacked down to the floor. Nice staff as well.
