Loved it!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Shaun (days) and Jon (nights) ensured we had a marvelous time and went out of their way to provide extra services. Breakfast was a wonderful experience as well.

Fairly basic hotel but met our needs
Family room was large with great mountain views from the balcony. Heating kept the room nice and warm. The carpet was very dirty and needs to be replaced. Only 2 channels on the TV worked and both were very poorly dubbed with terrible picture quality. Breakfast was OK. Staff were very helpful when around, but there was typically only 1 person available to deal with all guests at any given time. Grocery store and restaurants all within walking distance. Great location to access the Golden Triangle and we were also able to view the Northern Lights from our balcony, which we might not have been able to do in downtown Reykjavik.

Nice little hotel
This hotel was out of Reykjavik but not in a remote location. It served our family well but I was surprised that it was so close to strip mall and kfc. On the plus side it was close to grocery, gas station conveinence store ( bacon wrapped hot dogs were pretty good!) and ice cream etc. we had little kitchenette which was helpful. The breakfast offered was a great plus for us so we didn't have to worry about it every morning before we left on tours. Bus is right out front and took 30 minutes to get into city. A fair number of tour companies do not pick up there although if you contact them by email they will sometimes agree. Can also book through hotel which is easier but not as many options. The front desk is extreme my helpful. Also fun to have little bar.

Happy Accommodation & Friendly People.
My grandson & I arrived at the hotel at about 8:30 (after early flight) to find our room ready for us,far earlier than check-in time. Sean was very accommodating and helpful in all respects, as was NuNu at the front desk. Meeting and being entertained by Albert Ruttson (owner I think) was a special treat (especially since he gave us Brennivin to toast the occasion). The staff was helpful in arranging a late excursion for us, which included a shuttle pickup & dropoff (at 3:30 am no less) by the Grayline people at the hotel (something Reykjavik Excursions would not do). Breakfasts were very tasty and generous from 7:30 to 10:00 am, and the service was excellent. The tv didn't work in our room, but we didn't care and reported as we checked out -- that's the reason for the lower than excellent rating for "hotel condition." Iceland and the staff were quite entertaining enough. A super experience for us both.
