Not what you might expect, so brace yourself
I took a train from the airport and used a map to try to find the place. When I got to the little plaza that has the street it was supposed to be on, I was very surprised not to see any indication it. Not only that, but there were only 2 doorways leading off of the plaza, so it really seemed like it wasn't there at all. There was a group of loitering men, so I attempted to ask them. One of them spoke English and told me to follow him. While I was hesitating, another man came up behind us and tried to get me to go with him. It was a very alarming way to begin my stay in Rome, to say the least but I think what may have happened is that the English-speaker was staying at a different "hotel" and thought I was staying there too. The second man led me to the right "hotel" which was really just an apartment divided into 3 rooms. Quite different from what I was expecting even though I read reviews. Also, THE "HOTEL" ONLY TAKES CASH! That is an important point that I wasn't aware of. The neighborhood is quiet, but it made me nervous about the possibility of muggers. Also, the rooms do not have deadbolts. Staying alone as a young woman I realized that I didn't want to be there and ended up switching hotels. This was difficult to explain, since the building caretaker doesn't speak English. Long story short, this place could be perfect for you, depending on your situation. I would just advise that you know what you're getting yourself into.
