The motel is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from Au Train beach. The adjoining store is convenient for picking up things you might need for your stay or pre-made food. Everything was clean and in working condition. The room included a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Our two bed unit was actually two bedrooms plus the bathroom and a little sitting area. The room is very dated and the mattress was kind of hard, even for someone who prefers a hard mattress. The water was slightly discolored…probably fine but we picked up a jug of water just in case. The gentleman at check-in was very nice but had some trouble finding our reservation, so it took a while to check in. There is no after hours check in, so you need to be able to check in during store hours.

10/10 Exceptional

This motel was perfect for what we needed! We hiked, kayaked and explored during the day, so we needed a clean, comfortable place to sleep/shower and get ready for our adventures the next day. The lake/beach is a quick 5 minute walk away. We enjoyed the laid back “chill” attitude of this town….very different from the hustle and bustle of Munising. The gas station (which is where you check in) is right next store and has fresh, homemade pasties every day. The room had a TV, towels, A/C, a heater, a box fan, microwave, larger mini fridge, coffee maker and a sink in the “mini kitchen” area. No problems with the WiFi either, worked great! Yes, this is an “older” Motel, but it’s not gross. It’s clean and functional. The only thing I wish they provided was Kleenex…not a big deal, we just bought some at the gas station next door. We loved that our unit had two separate bedrooms. It gave our teenagers their needed “space”. The communication from the owners was great and the check in/out process was super easy. The next time we visit the area, we WILL stay here again.
