Pretty but humidity smell is no joke
The appearance of the room was just like in the pictures. Hotel Staff was friendly. The hotel name is not Found is Alden Hotel, the only way I figured out was because the Sonder icon was on the door and I had downloaded the app and remembered it. The hotel is under renovations and I understand that how ever the humidity smell is alarming and you can noticed as soon as you enter the lobby. I thought this was not going to be an issue on the room but it was. Probably is in the ac units. I did not see a single dehumidifier. If you are sensitive to this or have respiratory issues avoid the stay here until they fix this. I stayed only 2 nights and even my clothes had this smell. Came back home coughing from this. The room was clean and pretty. The sink was very very small. Other than the smell I wish the best for the hotel.

Nice with problems
As far as the decor is considered, this room was well appointed. I also loved the Matching pink Fridge and coffee setup. I loved the soaps and the shower head as well as the seating area. As for the area, if South Beach and its activities are what you are booking this for, a simple under 10-minute walk cutting through 29th street onto Collins and walking to your right (towards 28th onwards) can lead you to the bus stop where you will be able to catch the free Trolley (Near 23rd street). A small price to pay for a more affordable stay without a resort fee. Now for the sucky part, there is no true parking, I repeat NO PARKING. I would not recommend renting a car unless you have extra to pay. The PARKMOBILE app didn't even allow me to pay for public parking because they said they didn't allow my country access to the site (which is silly for a touristy area). My saving grace was going on to 29th street, where I was able to access a valet service in AC hotels which charges you $40.00 per day. The area immediately in front of the hotel has a 15-minute offload parking spot which I used to offload and load my luggage.

We liked everything apart from the check-in experience. You cannot do the check in in the reception, everything is through the application. I did the booking for me and my mum. She had to arrive 1 day before me. I did the check-in online using the app, but we were having multiple issues with the ID approval. I did the booking with my first name and both surname, and because I didn't include the middle name... the app didn't approve my ID, therefore my mum had to wait more than 3 hours at the reception until my check-in was successful. I call the Sonder telephone line, and one lady even told me that because my middle name was not included in the booking, we had to cancel the booking, ask for the refund, and book again with the worry of losing the room. The people in the reception were calling internally the main Sonder offices, and they sent me more than 15 links to do the virtual check-in, non of the links were working, until finally after more than 3 hours of my mum waiting at the hotel the link worked and they managed to approve my ID. Was a very stressful check-in process more because my mum was there waiting for hours and they couldn’t do anything there if I didn’t go through the online ID check. That was the only downside, as the hotel is in an amazing area, very close to the beach, to starbucks, to the bus stop. Lovely mattress!! Súper confortable!. Very friendly staff, amazing bathroom and very clean facilities!
