Naples: If It Ain't Baroque, Fix It
We paid a little extra to get a "superior" double room and were assigned Room 111. The room was quite small but efficiently designed. The beds were close to the hallway door but we heard only minimal noise from other guests - the halls were carpeted and the other room doors didn't slam shut as in so many other hotels. We had no street noise, although rooms on the Via Alabardieri side probably would. We did have some noise from the housekeepers, who seemed to park themselves right outside our door every morning about 7 or 7:30, which was a problem on mornings we wanted to sleep in. The included breakfast was good, with real scrambled eggs every morning, a good selection of cheeses, cured meats, breads and pastries, plus yogurt. There were some fresh fruits, although bananas and apples were never especially fresh. The hotel staff seemed to be focused on selling us tour packages rather than helping us find our own way around. The hotel was in a safe area with people in the streets late. The nearest metro train was a good walk, which wasn't a problem for us because we're big walkers, and most of the neighborhoods we were interested in seeing were within our walking range, including the waterfront, the Centro Storico, Toledo, Vomero, etc. HIGHLY recommend a stop in Cappella Sensevero in the center to see the extraordinary sculpture Cristo Velato; also recommend trips to Caserta to see the "Italian Versailles" and to Pompeii. Found Capri overrated; next visit we'll try Procido.

Good location but ants and dirty comforter
The location was good and the front desk was helpful in booking tours. However, when I lifted my comforter the second night of my stay I was shocked to find it stained and filthy. I also found trails of ants all over the floor of both the room and the bathroom. The front desk told me nothing could be done until the following day, which is when I was checking out. I slept on top of clothing and covered with a towel because I was so grossed out by the comforter. Also, the rooms are freezing cold and there is no way to control it - the panel in the wall would not change temperatures and was partially falling off the wall. When I left, I reiterated my complaints and they said they wished they could have given me a discount or something due to the troubles, but they could not because I prepaid on Would not stay here again.

What Happened to Service
The air conditioner leaked at night. The hotel serviced it one night and it still leaked. When we mentioned it to them at check-out that we were not happy about the leaking they said, you booked it with so we can't give you a credit. What does who you book with have to do with providing good service?

We were changed to a bigger room and the shower was not functional. The AC was giving us a hard time at night. The staff is very friendly and the area is very convenient!
