Our Venice Nightmare
When I booked this hotel, I placed a Visa card on file to hold it, not intending to charge the room to this card due to foreign fees. Guess what, they charged room immediately upon arrival without informing me although I did find out upon departure. Secondly, extremely difficult to find even with directions. This 6 Room hotel also had absentee management. Were only there to serve breakfast. It was also in a seedy area therefore, would not recommend. No elevator therefore making it extremely difficult to transport luggage to 3rd floor. Rooms very dim for they used low voltage bulbs. As you can envision, I was very unhappy with our stay.

Worst nightmare!
Horrible. Nobody was there to greet us and our hotel room was filed with spiders and other bugs (they were literally crawling out of the bathtub drain). Also, despite leaving a note for the management, they made no attempt to contact us or rectify the situation.

Great location, horrible everything else.
I was very excited to stay in this hotel after reading many positive reviews, however, after staying I now believe all of the positive reviews were for rooms actually in the main building. When we arrived and checked in, we guided down an alley to a separate building with two rooms. The room was extremely old, it smelled of mildew and musk, and the ground was covered in dead gnats while the air was filled with their live brethren. The hotel staff is not around 24 hours a day, so you better hope that if you need something, it's when they happen to be at the front desk. The free wifi does not extend to this separate building that we were in, the air conditioning was also not turned on. The shower did not drain normally, so while showering, you had a bunch of dead gnats swimming by your feet. Now at this point, you may be asking yourselves, why not just clean up the dead gnats? Well the answer is, every day we would come back to a new swarm of gnats that needed murdering. This was mainly due to the fact that there was a gap between the door and the floor, and that windows were left open without screens. The location was very nice and central to the grand canal, but overall this was by far the worst place we stayed during our five city, two week trip.

Character hotel on a very quiet street
Lovely small hotel in a quiet street. Rooms have character and are stylish. Staff may not be there for check-in, but they leave information and a key on the reception table for you (you ring a bell and speak to them to enter the locked hotel). Just stayed one night, but really enjoyed it. No complaints.
