Beautiful hotel, great location
Very convenient location close to the town center and restaurants.. small rooms however beautifully and stylishly decorated to maximize space.. hotel gave us chocolates and champagne for our anniversary.. nice touch!

Comfortable stay
The hotel is next to the Aldstadt and within walking distance of the main sights. Our room (503) was over a courtyard that was mostly quiet (a restaurant was noisy in the evening until late). Stylish fittings that worked well in a compact room. Breakfast buffet offered ample choice including lots of fresh fruit. Taxi rank opposite for easy departure to airport but there is a bus too. The Innsbruck welcome card offers free public transport and a discount on the Nordkette train/funicular/cable cars.

Advise look elsewhere
There are likely better options in the area. Every hotel has small issues that can be easily overlooked, but unfortunately those issues kept adding up throughout my stay at the Maximilian to the point they could not be overlooked. Hotel is well located in the city center but missed on overall experience due to the mounting issues. The room was the smallest of any hotel I’ve stayed at on the trip. I also booked a double room with a queen bed and the room was smaller than other hotels where I booked a single room with double bed even after accounting for bed size. Despite booking a double room for the extra amenities, I was only given a single pillow, towel and double size comforter. The internet speed is extremely slow such that anything beyond text messages isn’t really usable. I asked another guest who was working in the lobby and she had similar issues and was using her phone data plan as a hotspot for her laptop. I also posted the “do not disturb” sign on the door while I was out and the cleaning staff still came in the room and serviced the room. This included removing the hung towels and replacing them with new ones despite the sign in the bathroom that hanging towels meant they would not be replaced. Mentioning this to the front desk merely elicited a “sorry” despite the intrusion. Buffet is expensive and lacks the quality of options I’ve found at other hotels in Austria.

This location is convenient to the old town area and was clean and modern. There was no safe way to unload luggage.. had to park on the street across from the hotel and take your suitcases across a busy street, also ther was on site parking. Had topark at a sister hotel. There was no on site staff after 10 PM.
