The A/C didn't work so we opened windows and woke up to about 15 mosquitoes buzzing around us (and I was covered in bites, head to toe!). The hotel was hard to find, even after the third or fourth time, so we only managed with the help of a GPS, but if you don't have a sim card to use that feature on your phone, you may be in trouble!

Great IF you don't mind a rough sleep
Small, I can understand that. The staff were friendly but you could never get a straight answer because the guy just wanted to joke with you for five minutes with every question. We wanted to do laundry and he said they didn't have a service, even though it was online, so we went and paid 17 euros to do laundry to find out later that they in fact had the service the floor above us. I don't know how he didn't know that. My big complaint, which is why I wouldn't recommend this hotel, is that the bed was the most uncomfortable bed in Europe that we slept on. We stayed in 8 hotels total and this was the worst. You could literally feel the springs with every movement. It felt like there were springs with a sheet over them. Horrible nights sleep those two nights. It's also about impossible to find if you don't have google maps going. We didn't pay for international data and wished we would have. For the price it was clean, in a good neighborhood and the staff was friendly. Oh yeah the breakfast was flipping amazing! Best free breakfast we had all trip but like I said, impossible to sleep on that mattress.

Secluded in Venice
A great location, but hard to find. Fortunately, we took a water taxi and the driver told us exactly how to get there from the water taxi stop. An easy walk, but off the beaten path on a quiet side "street". Hotel has no lift. Breakfast was meager, but adequate.

Comfortable and Friendly Staff
You'll need to be ready to walk and climb a bit to get there, but we thought it was worth it. Centrally located; friendly service; clean and bright rooms. You'll want to find it in the daylight and be aware of the stair climbing. Don't expect much of a view from rooms, but there are 2 small roof-top terraces that provide a little Venetian ambiance.

2 nights and 3 days.
I used hotels. com to find a hotel for a short stay for sight seeing. My surprise was when we had to take a "bus boat" from the address listed to the actual hotel. It was not a problem, but that was because everyone (taxi driver from train station, ticket seller, helpers on the boat) all took pity on me and told me just what to do. LOL Upon arriving at the hotel, and finding there was no elevator, or bus boy to help with "way to heavy bags", I was not happy with having a room on the 3rd (TOP) floor, until I saw the room. Clean, nice looking, balcony with table and chairs to relax, and a great view of the roof tops of near by buildings. No water view, but really very nice. The man at the desk (although too thrall) was wonderful with explanations of questions I had. Breakfast included was a wonderful start to each day. Personally served heated roles and coffee or Espresso with attention to all needs was wonderful. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again, and would recommend it to anyone.
