Loved this hotel!
This hotel is amazing. We had a very spacious room, with what appeared to be an updated bathroom. The hotel itself is very old and charming, but well maintained. The bar is fabulous...very cozy with a magnificent view of the lake. There is also a terrace accessible from the bar. The dinning room is in the lowest floor but it is very open and airy and the breakfast was fabulous. The staff were all knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, with English being spoken by everyone. It is located in the old town and everything is within walking distance. The only thing missing during our stay was snow, which would have made this chalet picture perfect!

Very Good8.0
You say this hotel has air conditioning and it does not. There is not a hotel in St Moritz with AC. Also you say it is .5 mile from train station and we walked more than a mile up hill.

Classy hotel
Great hotel, classy interior / furniture. Short walk to city center. Even got a free upgrade to a room with unobstructed lake view.

Do not walk to this hotel from the train station.
Our whole experience was virtually ruined by our "trek" to get to the hotel from the train station. We arrived just after 6pm on the Glacier Express from Zermatt. We went to the train stations office and asked how to get to the hotel. The clerk offered to call them and have them pick us up. When she did, they told her that that service ended at 6pm -- about 5 min. previous. The clerk told us that a "taxi" would be quite a bit more than the shuttle was. Didn't mention prices specifically. She said the other options was to take a bus or walk. There were only about 10-20 people around the station. We went to a bus that was parked there, but the driver told us it wasn't his bus. So we opted to walk, which was told to us a 15 minute walk. But due to construction at the airport -- we had a pretty convoluted walk. We kept referring to the map, and trying to find street signs. The whole area seemed deserted for a Monday night just after 6pm. Finally after a 45 minute walk we were able to get to the side of the hotel that you could enter on. Telling the front desk clerk that we were very unhappy with the experience, and that they should have the people at the train station not suggest people walk with luggage. I was just told that it was not their fault -- no "I'm sorry" what so ever. The room and view were beautiful. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, which was good. The town had very few people for the beginning of June - the weather was very drizzly.
