Good basic lodging.
I got the cheapest room, where there is just a sink in the room and the toilet and shower are shared. It was not a problem - there were two toilets for about 6 rooms. There was only one shower but I never needed to wait. In contrast to what some reviews say, the hotel staff spoke English. When I got back around 1:30am one night the desk was closed but I rang the night bell and someone quickly arrived to let me in. Overall, good basic lodging, very close to the train station. The room was clean and comfortable.

Hot, Loud, Inconvenient
We had a small room with a private bathroom on the complete other end of the hall. No AC in our room or the bathroom. Opening the window just allowed swarms of mosquitos into the room which buzzed by our ears all night. Unfortunately we had some very loud neighbors in the hotel that night which kept us up until midnight with a raucous that came through the thin walls. A thunderstorm started up and shook the whole building the rest of the night. So we got very little sleep before our flight the next morning from Pisa Airport.

Overall our stay wasn't bad. To backpack through Europe all you need is a safe roof over your head and a bathroom, the rest of the time your out exploring anyway. The walls seemed paper thin but our room was on top of the reception and by the stairs so we heard everyone coming and going, although thin walls seem to be normal with the older buildings in Europe. The heater in the room also did not work so the little time we spent in the room was under the blankets. We finally got cold enough to tell management, he looked at it and just said it was fine and needed to "warm up" ... We had it running for a few hours prior so that really wasn't the problem

Overall great stay, convenient location surrounded by shops, restaurants and 10 min walk to the leaning tower. Staff was very accommodating and nice. My family and I enjoyed our stay. We traveled with my 3 yr old grand daughter and 7 month old grand son; had every thing we needed except a crib or pack and play to lay the baby in. Rooms were too cold for me and heaters were not warm enough. Aside from the temperature, great stay. Pictures represent the hotel exactly, nice and clean. Thank you.
