Beautiful place
Absolutely we enjoyed our stay. The place is a kind of a relaxing environment with environmental features: lots of flowers, bergamot trees, grapes which give nice shades for passages and antic furnitures.

Great looking place, but looks aren't everything..
Le Hammeau is an old farm, turned into a charming hotel. It looks fabulous, with flowers everywhere, a swimming pool, great parking, and it's location is fine. The Provence at its best! So far, so good. What's less good is the comfort. Everything looks quaint, but quaint is not automatically comfortable. Far from it. The beds are old, the a/c doesn't do its job, it's quite moist, the showers are old fashioned etc etc. Once again, not bad, but definitely not what you would expect from a 4 star "resort" , with matching price level. Summarizing, it's a nice 3 star place, but don't expect the world...

Dated Room; Unfriendly Check-in
The hotel is in a fabulous location, with beautiful views and lovely outdoor areas. Our room was dated, musty smelling and furnished very poorly. It was a shock since the property is so nice. The bathroom door didn’t really close - no latch or handle - the bed covers and curtains were very old, the dark Spanish decor didn’t fit with the Riviera area, and the tub with handheld showerhead had no curtain. There were cabinet doors under the sink but no shelves so they were useless unless you put your things on the floor. Luckily we didn’t spend much time in the room. The staff reprimanded me when I called to advise we would be a little late arriving. The gentleman told me we needed to be there by 8 pm though the confirmation from said 9 and the printed information in the room said 10. He and the woman who checked us in both told me it wasn’t full season yet so they left the front desk earlier at night. How were we supposed to know? I was also told twice that we should have called earlier that day (but we had no cell service). It’s a shame we weren’t happy with this hotel - it should have been one of our favorites on this trip!

The manager went out of his way to give me all the information I needed about the area. The breakfast was delicious, with local jams and nice croisants. And the rooms are charming and unique.

Fabulous Location & Grounds
Absolutely an amazing location with breath-taking views. A pool to lounge by with a terrace as well to relax overlooking St Paul de Vence and the Mediterranean. Breakfast was also very nice with good service. The grounds are so beautiful with vines growing over trellises it was simply a great place to be at. I chose the cheapest room on because I'm cheap. So I want you to be aware that the location and place is great but know what you are getting in advance if you are going to take the cheapest room. 1st of all the entrance to the room has a little over a 5' door with steps leading into the room. We were told beware and watch your head, I did but still didn't matter being 6'1" I cracked my head once. The bathroom I would compare to the size of a cruise ship bathroom with no counter space though. The room was clean and nicely decorated but small. We were there 3 nights and there was not much room to open suit cases. The room needs more ceiling lights, it tended to be a little dark. There was a safe and refrigerator/bar in the close which didn't leave much room to hang a few jackets and shirts. I actually broke a wine glass on top of the fridge while pulling a shirt out of the closet. This place is amazing but would highly recommend it. We were offered another room for 1 night that was open but would have cost us $70 more, plus were didn't want to pick up and move.
