About Hôtel la Résidence du Vieux-Port, Marseille

Retro-chic Marseille hotel with restaurant, near Vieux-Port

Old Town, historic Panier

Hôtel la Résidence du Vieux-Port is a 23-minute drive from Marseille Provence Airport, and the metro is 3 minutes away on foot. The narrow, colorful alleyways of Quartier du Panier - home to the domed La Vieille Charité - and the bustling Vieux-Port are a 10-minute stroll.

History, ancient fort

You can walk 6 minutes to Musée des Docks Romains and learn about Marseille's maritime history and Roman artifacts. A 17-minute stroll takes you to ancient Abbaye de Saint Victor, or you can walk another 10 minutes to reach Notre-Dame de la Garde that towers over the city.

Breakfast, terrace views

The restaurant Le Relais 50 serves fresh food amid 1950’s Parisian bistro-style decor with red velvet seats and a terrace for breakfast with port views. You can relax with a cocktail from the bar in Bibliothèque with large stained-glass windows and colorful artwork.

Retro with free WiFi

Most guestrooms have balconies so you can enjoy fresh breezes with your drink from the minibar, or you can watch movies on flat-screen TVs. Bright, retro design and colorful furniture blends with floor-to-ceiling windows, and free WiFi comes standard in all rooms.

Nice hotel except for the dirty sock
Nice hotel in great location - dirty sock on chair in room, and used shower cap in the bathroom were a bit worrying although the room otherwise was clean enough. The corridors and common areas are definitely in need of a refurb.

Recommend hotel in Marseille
Excellent location at the 'Old Port'. There are lots of restaurants and a major shopping mall within walking distance. The 'hop on- hop off' bus is also near by. Staff spoke English and very friendly.

Lovely Hotel with a Few Problems
There is a lot to love about this hotel; beautiful design aesthetic, great location, fantastic view of the old port from balcony and room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. On the other hand there were some small, but surprising problems. Some were fixed while we were there, a burnt out light bulb in desk lamp, and others not, a lock on a balcony door that didn't work. Also the lever to pull up to get the water to go up to the shower often came off in your hand. I would still go back, but hopefully to a different room with no problems.
