This hotel was a decent location for most major attractions in Amsterdam, each was a bit of a walk. The staff was also very nice. However, the room had an odd odor.

The reason I chose this place was because I saw the other reviewers had mentioned that they let you check in early when you arrive in the morning. This was going to happen with us, so I didn't want to be stranded in Amsterdam for hours with luggage. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself is old, but has everything you need. Elevator is a little awkward, but this is a European thing. Stairs are very steep. There's no AC so we had the window open the whole stay and the temperature was fairly comfortable, even if there was more outside noise. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the breakfast. It wasn't anything fancy, and it was not included in the price (an additional 12 euro), but we enjoyed waking up each day and getting the mostly unlimited breakfast. Location of the hotel itself was a bit far from most of the tourist stuff we wanted to do, but we had no problem making the walk each day. I'd definitely stay here again.

Small room but great location
The room was small and the building is a bit dated but the hotel is in a great location. One of my favorite spot along the canals was across the street and a 5 minutes walk from the hotel .

Not Bad
Nice enough place, but a bit run down. Front desk person tried to charge me for breakfast after telling me it was included. Single beds are awful. They want to roll you off of them and are super mushy. And putting two single beds together here to form a double doesn't work. They just mush you into the center crack and separate.
