Steamy nights in my nightmare Paris hotel room
We booked two rooms for our family through Hotels.com, but when we arrived only one room was available. Apparently there were problems in the communication about the booking. the hotel staff asked us to wait in the lounge and offered us a drink, then later tried to charge us for the drink. Later in our stay my family and I got trapped in the hotels tiny and ancient elevator for just over a half hour. The staff responded immediately and I'm grateful as it was extremely hot,but this elevator is inadequate for this hotel. The hotel has no adequate air conditioning. I mentioned three days in a row to the person at the front desk that it was extremely hot in our room, one manager even promised a fan...which never came. at the end of our stay the manager asked how everything was and I again mentioned the heat, it was 102 outside and oid it, it's a complete nightmare!

The elevator is very small, and on floor 4 there is a service room and they make a lot of noise at 9am

It was fine
Everything in the hotel such as the location, overall cleanliness was fine. We were greeted by Marcel who took our lugagge so he could store it since our room wasn't quite ready (we were early), our room fit 3 people comfortably, bathroom was very clean and room was in order. Only problem was the heating in the room was not working at all, and this was December and we were on the first floor so it was very cold. When I asked the staff to change our rooms or switch us to another location they said they couldn't change our rooms cause the hotel was full (of course!) and they couldn't transfer is I was given no reason why. They did however get us some blankets that smelled kind of funky. That's the only thing that bothered me, it's winter and you have a hotel room that has a heating system that's not working? That just doesn't make any sense.

Good Location
Location is nice for the price. Less than a mile to the Louvre. 2 Metro stations within 5min walk (just 3 blocks away). The breakfast they offer is prohibitively expensive at 17€ per person (are you kidding best western??! That's ridiculus!). Recent renovation makes the accommodations very nice looking and comfortable with the exception of the shower - It is tiny and has weird doorless and curtainless design which easily allows water to leak out all over the place (annoying). It also has this low hanging metal tube that runs from the shower wall to the glass divider which I banged my head on (I am 6'3" so it may not be an issue for everyone). Not sure if all the bathrooms are like that or I just happened to get the awkward one. All in all it was basically worth what we paid for it. And the room we had was surprisingly roomy considering all we have heard about how tiny all the hotel rooms are in Paris. ((Oh yeah, do yourself a favor and walk the 6 blocks or so to an awesome local restaurant called Chez Jeannette. You can find it online...You won't regret it!))
