Great location!
Our room was very small & not very comfortable, the flat screen TV was the size of my computer screen & there was a horrible sewer smell in the bathroom. But it was very well situated, 4 blocks from bus & train stations, surrounded by restaurants. We took the hop on hop off bus that leaves from the station & were able to go everywhere pretty easily.

Budget hotel in a not-so-beautiful area
I always prefer to stay in budget hotels, and this certainly is one. The pictures given online don't quite match the hotel rooms. I don't mind budget hotels, but it bothered me that they weren't just upfront and honest about it. I booked two rooms with double beds, but they were just two twins pushed together. The mattresses were comfortable, but they weren't on real bed frames, just metal cot frames, like you would find at camp. The heaters in both rooms were broken, which made for some cold nights. The rooms I booked had balconies pictured, which weren't there, and the rooms appeared much larger online. I'm very short, and it wasn't convenient for me to use the toilet because my knees hit the wall. The first thing I saw when I entered the room was a picture of Paris with the Eiffel Tower, which immediately tipped me off that it was less authentic and more budget-oriented. The service was great though--workers were friendly and helpful. Loved that they had free luggage storage for small luggage for the last day. The location is super convenient if you're using the subway or train a lot. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Termini subway/train station. The area isn't very nice or authentic (because it's next to the train, obviously). I prefer staying in quieter, more authentic places while in Rome, because it changes your experience so much. Not many authentic or friendly cafes or restaurants in the area. Just a night is ok for convenience, but other locations are much better.

I would definitely stay here in a heart beat
Hotel Continentale is 5-8 minute walk from Termini station. The location is ideal in that it isn't too close to the noisy streets of the main station, but close enough for one to be able to walk to it Secondly, there are several wonderful restaurants in the vicinity, including one right opposite the hotel. The room was rather spacious with an AC, television, cupboard and safe. The bathroom is tiny but manageable. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and always willing to recommend places to eat, shop and visit. All in all, my visit to Rome was lovely and I will definitely be staying at this hotel the next time I am in town. The only unpleasant event took place at the end of my journey. The hotel had booked a taxi for the Ciampino airport, and I was told it would cost be 40 Euros. I had exactly 40 Euros on me. I was told the cab driver accepted cards as well, so did not bother to withdraw more cash. However, upon arriving at the airport the driver got aggressive and demanded 50 euros. I initially told him the hotel had fixed the rate at 40 Euros. When I agreed to pay but using credit card he would not accept it. Eventually I paid the deficit in dollars but ended up paying more. So my only recommendation to the staff would be to confirm the amount with the cab driver before booking it for their guests.

You get what you pay for.
The location was convenient for us as we were catching a train. Otherwise the hotel is super run down and needs serious updating. The bathroom especially could use a total facelift. The price is cheap so you do get what you pay for.

Great location, budget hotel
A great budget hotel in Rome. Close to Termini so easy to travel to top sites by metro but also on foot. Room was small but clean. No fridge. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment. It was a little dated but that was no problem for us. There was a small lift.

Central location.
This was actually an OK hotel, good location, helpful staff, clean. If going back I will use again. Only caution, you have to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs before you can use elevator.

Location was good. Room, esp bathroom was a bit small but still okay for a couple of nights. There is a safe in the room, no mini fridge.

convenient no frills hotel that serves the purpose if you are looking for a budget hotel to stay. Pros:the rooms have a mini fridge, washroom with hot water, cable Tv (in italian) and a safe. The area is surrounded by restaurants, a couple of supermarkets and the Termini station. Cons: There is a hostel next to the hotel with a bar that is open 24 hours so the street gets very noisy with young people drinking in the street, this is only if you get a room facing the street, the hotel have a lift on the second floor that fits one person plus luggage so there is the need to use the stairs most of the time to reach the rooms.I wouldn't recommend this hotel to people that is very picky about details.
