Belle Arti Hotel, Venice
A definite gem
Hotel was quiet and clean. Possibly made over recently. Breakfast was decent. Loved being away from the crowds

Only settle if you have to
Other reviews have accurately described their experience with the hotel. On the plus side, it's location can't be beat: near a vaporetto stop, near the Ponte d'Accademia, a mere 15 minutes from San Marco, in a quiet, more residential island with its own museums and attractions as well. On the less positive side, the staff are rather indifferent to their visitors. Do not expect any welcome or thank you for staying with us. We also were not placed in the main building but given a room across the street in what ostensibly are renovated rooms though the building itself is rather shabby. The room was small with barely any space between foot of the bed and the wall, no window views. Bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, bathroom was also clean though I did not understand the reason for an oversized toilet. Hotel toiletries were also rather skimpy. For what was provided, the hotel rate is steep (in other words, not worth the money you pay). Keep looking is my suggestion unless this is one of the few "affordable" options left. I happened to be in Venice when everyone else also seemed to be. Definitely though keep Dorsdouro as an island you want to stay on - away from crowds.

We were looking forward to staying at Belle Arti hotel until we went to go check in on August 7, 2017 around 1:45pm. As soon as I handed the front desk receptionist our passports for ID she gave me attitude of why I'm giving her two passports. I told her that myself and husband were checking in. She belittled me saying "it was going to be a problem" (she said it a few times and where the entire line could here her belittling me) that I made resos for (accidentally) for 1 guest instead of 2. I was in total shock and could not believe she was speaking to a guest this way! I don't think that she realized that was the exact moment that we no longer wanted their services. I learned that you can't judge a book by its cover (beautiful landscape and patio). I only think of the rude front desk receptionist now when I think of Belle Arti. It was so bad that we decided to go to a different hotel.

Location ideal and lovely hotel.
Lovely stay. Polite friendly staff. Fabulous breakfast. Ambience is great. Outside Lounging area is nice. The rooms are small but adequate. Very Venice. Loved it.

A good nights stay....
The room was very quaint and clean. A little on the small side but just right for us since we were just there to sleep. Would recommend this hotel for its location and affordability.
