Fabulous Fiesole...
Hotel Villa Bonelli is a gem in the hills of Tuscany, a short bus ride from Firenze. If you are visiting Firenze, and don't want to stay in the city itself, then book this hotel. It is in a little village called Fiesole...there is a Roman Amphitheatre and Museum there, as well as a Cathedral, and several very good restaurants, one, overlooking Firenze itself. The bus leaves from Piazza San Marco, which is another short bus ride from the train station, Santa Maria Novella. To expedite your travel, when you exit the train station, head straight across the street, directly in front of the station, is an information center. The agent will give you a free map, and tell you the number of the bus to Piazza San Marco, and the bus number to Fiesole. It is a very easy connection to make, and the bus ride to Fiesole is wonderful, as the view going to Fiesole is a sight unto itself.

Not good communication
I am a senior woman on my own. The hotel was most unhelpful. I asked for but got no assistance in getting from the central piazza to the hotel. All I wanted was a taxi but the desk person was rude and offered no advice except to say it wasn’t his problem. I was told that no one else had EVER had a problem getting to the hotel with a lot of bags uphill on a narrow heavily trafficked road. It wasn’t communicated that access to the hotel was difficult and that a taxi wasn’t an option for someone who can’t carry heavy bags on cobblestones uphill.

Very convenient stay
Good staff and great value for Firenze, parking is a bit harder and we stayed during -15C and didn't freeze even considering that heating got broken.

Poor2.0
very bad overall
my room was facing a wall and it wasn't really bright. The room was very basic. One older guy at the reception wasn't friendly and helpful at all. there was one key at the wardrobe that when i touched it my finger immediately started bleeding. there wasn't really a comfortable desk for working purposes. And there were mosquitos at night. the breakfast was quite simple. overall i wouldn't recommend to any other people. one of my colleague got a room on the ground floor that he heard people passing by all the time.
