This is a fantastic place, the staff are ALL helpful and very positive and polite. The location couldn't be better, it's in the heart of the city, nothing is out of walking distance. The decor and attention to detail in this restored building is excellent

Very Good 8.0
Enjoyed staying at the Hotel Corona D'Oro. There were some small glitches that took away some of the shine to the place--The cleaning staff forgot to restock some important items, and there were a few other issues, but overall, it's a quiet place, with a great desk and restaurant/breakfast room staff who went out of their way to be helpful, and it's situated right in the heart of Bologna but not quite so noisy as the Piazza Maggiore area. So, a real plus.

Good 6.0
Good location..but construction
Great location...on quiet street..also friendly staff. All pros to staying here. The room was tiny.. but not too much so by Italian standards. One thing to consider is that as of Dec 2018 the 1st floor is undergoing significant renovation work..and they start at 8am sharp. So expect sounds coming through walls and, at times, faint smell of construction activities.

Solo in luxury
Love that this hotel offers an option for solo travelers. A cozy jewel box of a room with all the luxuries and a huge shower was perfect!

This hotel was one of my favorites of the hotels I stayed in while in italy. The staff was friendly and helpful, and were very helpful in providing suggestions for sites to see and places to eat. When I come back to Bologna, I’ll stay here again!

Great Stay in Bologna
Wonderful stay. Upon arrival, asked and paid to be upgraded to a suite, as the deluxe rooms were smaller than we expected, based on the pictures we viewed online when booking. It's a charming and historic old hotel, formerly a palazzo, (and old-fashioned), right in the best part of the historical district. Front desk staff was extraordinarily friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast buffet (strongly suggest paying the few extra $ for it) was astounding, beautifully presented and delicious. It is an older hotel -- the air conditioning struggled to keep up (it was unusually hot during our visit), but we were never uncomfortable. Plugging in phones, laptops, i-pads was not that convenient, as hadn't been updated for that, but it was not a hardship. We thought it was charming, comfortable, well located and perfect for a visit to historic Bologna. My only (minor) complaint is that there were 'artworks' on easels at the entry and in the lobby, with prices clearly listed -- seemed to diminish the elegance of the property to be selling rather ordinary artworks all around the lobby. I would highly recommend the hotel as it represents well what historic Bologna is all about.
