Every detail is perfect, made for a fantastic stay
This hotel was superb, from the decor, amenities, cleanliness, friendliness of staff and location, it really feels like they are making every effort to ensure your stay is perfect. It has subtle quirky touches in the decor, soft jazz played in the lounge and such welcoming staff, that you feel happy as soon as you arrive. Hotel Amenities: The hotel was well presented, clean and welcoming. They also have a lovely garden (pictured), surrounded by greenery and ambient lighting to relax with apperativo. Food: A tasty breakfast buffet was served each morning with a variety of hot and cold options and amazing pastries. Also, a proper pot of tea - boiled water and cold milk! Each evening, apperativo was served free, including wine, beers and soft drinks plus tasty nibbles and canapes. In the room, there was a free mini bar of soft drinks, beers and snacks that was restocked daily. Plus a kettle, tea, coffee etc. Staff: The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. They had very good spoken English and I really felt like the staff have pride in their job and a genuine desire to help. Location: The location is perfect; situated in a quieter area, nice to be able to relax, yet only a 20 minute, riverside walk to the historic city centre or the south side of the river (Oltrarno district). Also, they have free car parking and are easy to access and located outside the restricted parking zone. One of the loveliest hotels I’ve stayed in. I highly recommend it.

What a fabulous, quirky gem!!
I have never experienced a hotel quite like this, and I've been travelling for over 50 years! It is a classic Florentine mansion converted into a hotel. I was given a room on the first floor in the back, where it was exceptionally quiet, as the hotel is right on the river and a road that borders the Arno River. The public rooms are charming, and the front garden a great place to gather and enjoy the lovely Italian weather. My room was quite large, very comfortable, but a little sparse on "decoration". In other hotels in Italy, the rooms are usually very "busy" with art (certainly the case in Rome and Venice), but my room was rather austere. Nevertheless it was extremely comfortable, and the windows in the bedroom and bath were huge, and could be flung open at night for the wonderful air coming off of the river. The breakfast they serve is superb, and it is easy to sit and spend two hours just enjoying the back garden and the wonderful selection of pastries, breakfast cheeses and cold cuts...but most of all, a "do-it-yourself" espresso machine. I LIVED in front of that machine every morning!! Heaven!! The staff were exceptional. Particularly Gabrielli, who arranged for us to see Siena and San Gemiagno. He set up a wonderful day, and was there to meet us at the end of the day to insure that everything had been first class. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, as it was not in the "heart" of Florence, so that it was relatively quiet, and yet close to most things.

The perfect hub to explore Florence from
We loved everything about our stay at Hotel David - the room, the breakfast, the location, the staff, it was all 10/10. We booked the small double which we were expecting to be tiny but in actual fact is was a perfectly good sized, clean, comfortable room. It was near the breakfast area and we were worried it would be noisy in a morning, but we didn't hear a thing. Talking of the breakfast, it was delicious! Loads of choice - eggs, bacon, pastries, fruits, cheeses and meats - all to be enjoyed on their pretty terrace. No better way to start the day. The staff were smiley, the receptionist recommended some great places to eat and drink locally too. In the evening we were treated to complimentary wine and snacks in the garden which was great after a long day exploring, and it also gave the place a really nice feel because you actually got the chance to chat to others. This was more on the expensive side of our budget but well worth every penny. It was excellent value for money and we hope one day to return. It is not in the central town bit but it's only a 15 minute walk along the river bank to get the main hub of the city. Around it there's plenty of lovely restaurants and bars too so you don't have to venture if you want to rest your legs.

Nice hotel in Florence
Hotel David is wonderful hotel, just on the outskirts of Florence. It is conviently located within walking distance of historic Florence, plus numerous places to dine. One can also access the city using the local buses, which run on a frequent basis. The room was comfortable and a bathroom was modern and clean. The hotel has a "Happy Hour" in the lobby downstairs and adjoining courtyard. Also, the breakfast and breakfast room was nice. The staff are courteous and friendly. They are most willing to assist guests in dinner reservations and other requests. I had left a sports jacket hanging in our closet on check-out. I didn't realize I had forgotten it until we checked into a hotel in Sienna. I called back as soon as possible. Vittoria was most helpful. She located the jacket and arranged to have to jacket shipped back to the USA. I am happy to say, the jacket arrived in the USA two days after we returned. Many thanks to Vittoria for being so kind. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning. The staff who prepare and serve are outstanding.

A perfect location for our mini break in Florence!
We only stayed at Hotel David for 2 nights but wish we had been staying longer! We were pleasantly surprised to find a free minibar was included, as well as a happy hour/welcome drink each evening and a free international phone call each day! The staff were always available to help with every request (even a spare UK phone charger!). They gave useful information on arrival, such as best transport options and things to look out for that aren't necessarily in all of the guide books. We found the amenities e.g. wifi to be reliable and there was an 'IT' area where guests could web surf and print documents etc. There was also a pleasant garden area and quite relaxing lounges. Breakfast was excellent and catered for all tastes. Our room was clean and spacious and as the hotel is a little away from the busiest areas, it was quite and peaceful at night. All in a perfect location for our mini break in Florence!
