Roaches check in and never check out
Although the walk from the train terminal to the hotel was less than scenic the exterior of the hotel was nice and inviting. I had booked a single and was given a room in the courtyard. Here the booking fell apart. The room was dank and stuffy. When I asked the desk about the air conditioning someone came to the room to check. Seems there was an electrical panel which needed to be opened and switches turned on. The A/C made noises like a machine gun and I had to turn it off to get some sleep. Waking up next morning I found a large cockroach (size of a .50€ coin) in my bed and two more scurrying around the shower. I left the hotel to start my day in Rome and came back after lunch to rest. Waking up I found I once again had company. I killed the cockroach, packed my bag and went to the front desk with my not so little friend. Antonio, who claimed to be the manager, offered to spray the room. Great! Then I have a room with bugs and poison! I declined and he said that he would talk to Expedia about refunding my money. Of course when I called about my problem the hotel denied everything. Horrible experience.

WiFi and Drugs
Everything was good for the most part. The only issue I had with the hotel itself was the poor WiFi connectivity. The WiFi was very strong in the hotel lobby but not so good in my room. It kept disconnecting or the internet was awfully slow. Although I wasn’t afraid, the neighborhood is particularly rough. I was offered to buy drugs multiple times just outside the gate of the hotel lol.

Fine. A very tight room, but I think this is normal in Europe. Great service, friendly staff. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, dirty, but the hotel itself is fine.
