Toxic cleaning agent, terrible smell!!
Terrible! Upon arrival and check in the front desk reception person was helpful and friendly an the lobby was quite decent, but as soon as I got off of the elevator on the floor of my assigned room there was an overwhelming smell of a perfumed deodorizer/cleaning agent. It was very strong in my room (which was tiny and unimpressive, and seemed fairly clean but lacked so much as a bar of soap) so I opened the window and then went out for a couple of hours of sightseeing and dinner, hoping it would be better upon my return. It was not!- being too cold to keep the window open, I closed it and laid down on top of the covers for a few minutes. At that point my nostrils and eyes began to burn and my skin was itching and I realized I was having an allergic reaction to the toxic cleaning agent. I have no allergies in general and nothing like this has ever happened to me. When I went down to the front desk to tell them that I could not stay in the room, they were unsympathetic but offered me a different room. The second room was less intense but still the same cleaning agent was used. Being in extreme discomfort and concerned because I have a serious health condition, I had to take the decision to find another hotel instead, and the Bernina refused to refund my money even though I had not used the room for more than 20 minutes total, and was having a serious allergic reaction. It was a terrible experience and I would never recommend this hotel!

Excellent4.0 / 5
We enjoyed the stay there for its closeness of Milan main train station & metro. One can travel all within Italy or beyond the borders. Staffs are pretty routine at work, nothing to talk about. This hotel is under renovation now so who comes in the near future will be please. It is a very clean hotel, the housekeeping has done a good joy & it is Italian bed sheets, so nice to feel it.

The Hotel is conveniently placed near Central Station, has several decent restaurants, in walking distance. ATM 's at 5 min, Metro at 2 min. The room is fairly small but very clean, beds and Bathroom. The breakfast is excellent, large variety and the staff very helpful and nice. Breakfast area is also very clean and nicely decorated. I gave an overall 4 stars mostly due to the small room and non central position but the rest was very good for the price.

Convenient location, near metro and train station. Breakfast was very good, largest variety of foods I've ever seen! Clean, comfortable but nothing fancy.
