Walking distance to 2 beaches
Hotel: The hotel looks clean and modern. Nice pool located at the centre. Room is spacious, clean and comes with balcony. Basic toiletries like shampoo and body wash available. Bring your own toothbrushes or request from hotel. Breakfast spread is reasonable with selections from cereals, breads, eggs (fried, scramble, boiled, etc), fried noodles, fried rice, salads and fruits. Airport Transfer Hotel charges private vehicle airport transfer at premium rate; around 1000 baht for minibus to fit 6 persons. If you booked shared mini-bus thru Hotel, it shall be 300 baht per persons. You can easily grab a shared mini-bus for 150 baht for each persons right at the arrival hall; it is the same service as hotel. Guess hotel does make commission thru this. This is the same price (150 baht) as public bus. Similarly, when returning to airport from hotel, you can book airport transfer from any road side tour booth for the same price of 150 baht. Locality Close walking distance to 2 beaches. Turn right at main road to Nopparat Thara Beach, walk about 5 mins, you shall reach the beach area. Turn left at main road to Ao Nang Beach, walk about 10 mins, you shall reach the beach area. 7-Eleven and Family Mart are all over the place, so don't worry about snacks. Day Tours There are several pop-up tour stores that can assist. Hop around and always bargain, they have a base price to pay the main shop and the rest are their commission. And all tours fetch you directly from your hotel.

A great holiday with a hotel to match
We really enjoyed our stay at Red Ginger Chic Hotel. I was contacted in the week leading up to the holiday to let me know that the swimming pool would be unavailable for 4 days, this is something that could of been really disappointing BUT the manager of the hotel upgraded our room and upon our arrival took the time to show me the different types of rooms and let me decide which was best for us, I think that this is an example of excellent service. The staff in the hotel are all lovely, they all have a smile on their faces and are happy to help whenever they can, special mentions have to go to a lovely young lady called Dai who worked in both bars and also in the restaurant and also to the man who wears the white shirt and navy blue cap and deals with the outside of the hotel during the day, what a great guy he was, he really took an interest in making us have a gray holiday and was extremely helpful. I would recommend any one to stay at this hotel because it is comfortable and great value for money. It is in an ideal area between the two local beaches and has restaurants nearby. Thank you Red Ginger Chic Hotel we had a great holiday!

Great hotel to use as anchor, don’t beach nearby
Beautiful hotel— the two-story room was perfect for our four-person family. AC worked like a charm in the heat. Excellent breakfast. Great pool, especially if you have a room that faces it (request one!). Very good service, although the staff was not schooled in helping with off-the-beaten-path requests. Welcome drinks and a swim-up bar made the place fee much more exclusive than the price let on. Local area just ok. Lots of access to your booking agencies and food vendors/restaurants. Nice local night market very close by. But don’t come here for the beach. Two beaches within walking distance, but don’t plan on swimming. Very dirty water, garbage strewn on sand, smelly water from local ravines empties directly into the sea. Ok for beach-walking, but really nothing else. Stay at red Ginger. But use it as a hub to go to the islands, kayak through the caves and mangroves, hiking, or going to the rain forest. Do not plan to use the beach; you will not be amused.

Poor 2.0
Terrible experience, poor service and standard
Tereible experience Check in time is 2pm and we have to wait until 3:40pm to get the room When waiting, staff just ignores us when we asked them when the room will be ready Hotel claimed that it is peak season but the reason is unacceptable Frontdesk staff no smile, and shows impatient Mattress is too hard Poor wifi, always disconnect Even 4G is not good inside hotel room Hygiene standard is poor, there are a lot of dead insect bodies being killed by previous guests on the wall, obviously the hotel never clean the wall Many ants in the room Housekeeper too lazy to provide us new toilet rolls when cleaning. May be because i put the tissue inside the toilet as all toilet rolls are used up. They come in and found i am using tissue and even didn't provide new toilet rolls when they make up the room Pros: great location and pool is good but a bit small (i stay in pool access room) Overall: a poor standard and aging hotel, never come back or recommend to others

Good 6.0
Good but could be better
In general a good experience. We received a room upgrade, much appreciated thank you. Upgrade included free mini bar with couple of drinks, a nice fruit platter as well as peanuts and dried banana snacks. Also 25% off any food puchased on first day. Room had bed in loft and included 2 aircon units, one downstairs and one in loft. Ample hot water. Room showing a little wear but had everything required. Bed was a little on the hard side. Staff in general were very good but lobby bar staff didn't impress. Breakfast selection was best of the 5 places we stayed during our 14 day vacation. Pool was fine. The only issue was the menu in the Spice restaurant. Pretty limited menu, prices ok, but servings small e.g fries accompanying beef tenderlion comprised about 8 small chips. Some improvement could be made in this area. One major disappointment but nothing to do with the hotel, was the lack of decent beaches for swimming. This applies to Phuket (exception being Karon beach, Koh Samui and Krabi. If you are looking for nice sandy beaches, easily accessible with crystal clear waters you'll be disappointed.
