Very Good
Good, centrally located hotel, friendly staff
The location in downtown Staines cannot be beat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the room had lovely views over the Thames, and balcony which must be lovely in the summer. The one issue is that the building is very old, and really could do with being upgraded. In order to get to the rooms, you have to go up and down various half staircases in order to get to the rooms - there is no elevator. This is not an issue for me, but for my elderly mother, it was a little more difficult. In addition, the room itself was very cold. The hotel provides a plug-in electric heater, in addition to the central heating, which definitely helped. The private car park is a definite bonus, particularly in central Staines.

Not a Great First Impression, But Overall OK :)
We arrived in the middle of a rainstorm. The hotel has limited parking and the lot was full. There was water in the hotel lobby and it generally felt wet. The stairs creaked badly when we walked up to our room. First impression was, "What have we gotten into?" Then it got better - the room was wonderful with a modern bathroom and a door that opened out onto the Thames river. The hotel is located a block away from shopping and restaurants, so we walked to all of our meals. We had a wonderful romantic walk along the Thames for our last evening in England. The hotel lobby and common areas need attention, but the room itself was great. We ended up having to park in a city parking lot for a total of 20 dollars over two days - not terrible, but not great either.

Middle of the Road
Pros: Nice river view. Good food. Clean room. Reasonable price. Airport bus (#441, 4Euros) 2 minute walk (1 hr ride.) Cons: Old building that needs some major remodel. Definitely feel worried walking down the halls. Paint is dirty, etc.
