Great stay in and Irish hotel
Our first visit to Ireland started out with a road trip from Dublin to Galway. We had no idea what the accommodations would be like but we took a chance on the Harbour Hotel and were not disappointed. An easy walk to the Main Street and so many shops, and a street band that was spectacular. A short walk back to the hotel and a comfortable night that prepared us for the long road trip that we continued on for the next few days.

Friendly staff, clean, excellent location!
My first impression was made great by the lovely front desk staff! They were so accommodating and helpful, and made me feel quite comfortable for being in Galway for the first time. The hotel itself was quite nicely located and close to the city center.

No heat in room in middle of winter
There was no heat and our room was freezing. When we called to tell them (which took a few calls bc there was no answer) they told us the heat is on a timer and only turns on at certain times. Even if that was true our room should have at least been warm but it was freezing and they didn’t offer anything for us. Not until I kicked up a bit of a fuss at checkout about how ridiculous it was that there was no heat they said they ‘should’ have brought us a heater. Yes, they should have but telling us at check out was unhelpful. The location was also a bit further than we wanted from the city centre in winter. Especially because it is down by the docks so it was always a very cold walk getting to the hotel. Shower in the room was also in bad shape. Inconsistent water pressure. I wouldn’t recommend this place for the price and definitely not in the winter.
