It's clean, but basic.
It's clean, but basic. Staff bend over backwards to be accommodating. Their cause is worth supporting--working with youth leaving care. Showers are bad--no water pressure, not enough hot water.

Comfortable
The Alabare guest house is perfectly situated for access to the city and near by attractions and for us, where a function was being held. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman who checked us in, but it did feel a little rushed. Once in the room it did feel a little cramped but looked homely and comfortable. I will say though I did set off the fire alarm (whoops) as the alarm is right above the sink where the only mirror is. I sraightend one piece of hair and the steam triggered it. After that I had to sit by the window to complete my hair using my phone camera as a mirror. This wasn’t easy. The beds were very comfortable although my partners mattress was shorted than the actual bed frame. My bed was right next to the radiator which was on and no matter which way I turned the dial, would not turn off. I couldn’t find any one to ask about this. At breakfast it all seemed a bit rushed and panicked. We were bought someone else’s drinks, easily sorted, we just have the other table their drinks. The sausage was perfect. Seemed locally sourced. The beans and egg were cold though. And the hash brown still raw. Again a la k of staff contact to raise an issue. Our check out time was 10am. At about 09:57, We were about to leave, all packed and ready to go. But I had a call of nature and a 4 hour drive ahead of us so nipped to the loo. There was a knock at the door and my partner answered it. It was a lady asking if we were checking out now?! I’ve never felt so rushed or unwelcomed.

Happy stay
Was welcomed and made to feel at home by Rosemary who was lovely. Easy to walk into town. Both my sister Anne and myself had a joyous time, was looked after and very much enjoyed out stay.
