Lovely place
A very nice place to stay. Convenient for our itinerary and all other needs were on hand. Many thanks to the Management and staff, who were friendly and helpful, serving delightful food and libations. The room was nice and comfortable. Would recommend to friends and will hopefully stay there next time we visit the area.

Attention to safety details needed.
Lovely food. Not sure that it’s particularly hygienic to have uncovered drinking glasses on a shelf below the toilet. Hairdryer sounded unsafe making a dreadful metallic noise. When mentioned I was told they were replacing them as someone complained the week before. Replacing faulty electricals should be a priority.

Outstanding! As soon as you enter the hotel it opens up into a bright, airy, comfy room with lovely wooden floor and tables and wood burner fire. Warm welcome from Mike and Francis behind the bar, shown to room (up lovely, wide staircase); room modern, clean, comfy with a nice view. Beer good (loved the real ale) and food home cooked by manager/ chef Andy; superb quality and big portions! Slept well but heard something starting up a few times during the night (sounded mechanical, possibly a fridge in the kitchen) whilst the water for the shower was warm, but not hot, and lacked power. Breakfast was fabulous with home smoked salmon and scrambled egg with toast and home made marmalade (have I got you drooling, yet?) served by Emma, Andy's lovely partner. Great for business, romantic and week away stays with good access to the sea and Dartmoor, this hotel is a brilliant.
