Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel, really quiet considering it was pretty full and a Saturday night. The breakfast was good and the chocolates an unusual bonus!

Hot chocolate.
Not the best of weather but enjoyed it all the same. Hotel nice, staff pleasent and helpful. Nice full breakfast but not a fan of the type of sausage.

Nice But Not Entirely Following The Love
Here on business but brought my sick wife as I couldn't leave her alone at home. I thought the Chocolate Boutique Hotel - which she'd seen on TV - might have made for a more pleasant stay for her but, sadly, she wasn't really well enough to enjoy. For me, I couldn't fault the help we had in looking after her, as we'd sadly booked too late to get a ground floor room and she was pretty much confined upstairs. The Chocolate theme and offers of confectionery everywhere you turned (Easter stay) was nice. However, I was less enamoured with the small room I had - two small cases and you'll need to watch where you walk - and the lack of attention to detail. The spoons in the room were tannin stained (I cleaned them up myself as, being slightly OCD, I couldn't use them) and some areas obviously weren't cleaned (As I discovered when I opened the lower sash bathroom window). Worse though was the TV. Now if you're in town for the summer or a getaway weekend that may not matter, but on business, if you get in late, sometimes you just want to sit on the bed and unwind. Here, the small static TV on the wall meant colour distortion and was virtually unwatchable from the bed. For the cost of an adjustable mount and a larger screen, it was really disappointing. Breakfast though was excellent and the staff helped in allowing me to take a tray up. And just a personal thing; there is white chocolate so I could have down with the rather disturbing brown towels. Nice, but, for me not excellent.
