The Cross at Kingussie, Kingussie
SImply Phenomenal
My husband and I chose this B&B after staying in Kingussie elsewhere and really enjoying mountain biking etc. in the area. We chose it based on the excellent reviews and were not disappointed, The Cross is simply phenomenal. Our room was not overly large, a double, with a very comfortable bed, good sized bathroom with powerful shower and quality linens. But as other reviewers mentioned, the food is just amazing. The breakfasts are ample and sooo delicious and the dinners are some of the best meals I have eaten anywhere. The gardens surrounding the charming building are so lovely. And all within easy distance of mountain biking, hiking, and the Ruthven Barracks. We stayed in about 10 different B&Bs over our 2 week stay in Scotland but it is The Cross we are looking forward to returning to as soon as possible!

Out of the way and way too expensive for what you
Very strange checking in from a member of staff. Main staff, possibly owners, need to smarten up and the aperitif prices need to come down. Unfortunately, they have a captive market and feel they can charge ridiculous prices for drinks.

Good location for activities, excellent B&B
Very good B&B with good location for hiking and other activities in and around the Aviemore area. Town is a little dull, no need to spend too much time there - but well marked paths and walking trips are great. Food at the Cross is one of the major qualities-we opted out of the evening dinner, as we were merely passing through the area. However breakfast and personal touch and welcoming was very good and positive.

Fine dining with B&B attached.
This hotel is really for fine dining, with rooms attached. We only wanted B&B so the fine dining was wasted on us. Another time maybe. The star attraction was the pair of red squirrels outside our window which the owners are feeding. There are excellent walks starting at the door.

Kingussie delights.
Friendly and relaxed residence in a very pleasant quiet setting. Food sumptuous.
