Basic
Very small, somewhat shabby and very basic room, no room for a bedside table or light. It's a nice old building which hasn't been modernised so draughty windows, which might come as a shock if you're not used to them. Ensuite was freezing and horrible smell after running the basin tap. Bit noisy as near kitchen and front door. However: the staff were nice (you can leave your luggage for the day after checkout, which was a great help) the bed was comfortable and clean, shower was hot, breakfast was ok, it's a quiet and elegant area, close to Victoria and Northern line tube. If you want somewhere to lay your head for a night you could do a lot worse.

Convenient and clean with a comfy bed
The best things about this hotel were: value for money, comfy bed in a clean room, a good well-cooked breakfast and kind, helpful staff. Frankly, that is all I need from a hotel when visiting London. My only quibble: although the bathroom was cleanly tiled and well cleaned, someone in authority needs to have a word with the shower, which was reluctant to offer anything more than a weak spray.

Little gem for museum goers and explorers.
We stayed in the basement room across from the kitchen (room 1) and although the room was small and had a view of the hotels reception office it was bright, clean and had new bathroom facilities. The location in right across from the London University and is surrounded by museums and galleries with an underground station nearby, so it's excellent for excursions in the heart of the city. The only downside was that we woke up to the kitchen staff making breakfast and the noise of the other guests coming to eat.

Bit Disappointing
A passable central London hotel. Room was nice but no hair dryer and a TV that was tiny and not in a watchable location. Neither of which I would expect for a 120GBP per night room. I was in the basement twin room right next to the dining/kitchen so was treated to cooking noise and loud radio from about 630 - so much for my planned lie in. The best had to be being asked to provide ID at check in which was a first for me at a London Hotel - as a UK citizen, I don't carry a passport or ID card with me and they seemed surprised when I refused. Apparently they have had a credit card fraud issue. Staff were pleasant enough so if you can get a room on offer or in advance it might offer reasonable value.
