Close to beach, but nothing worked
Our electricity went out often, although they did do their best to fix it. We were on the top floor (no lift, but not a big surprise) and there was no air conditioning and the window wouldn't open. We could open the fire exit door, but obviously could not leave it open overnight- it got pretty hot. Plenty of hot water, although we were told by another guest it was out earlier in the day. It was clean and convenient location with an en suite.

Decent room in a decent part of town
The room was nice and large enough. It was quiet and light. The host was very friendly and helpful. There were cobwebs and dust in the room in places and the bathroom was quite poor. An ensuite designed as a wet room it lacked flat dry places to put toiletries, the sealant needed redoing and the shower fittings were untidy and the sink metal parts had rusted. Overall, combined with a few rough edges elsewhere in the room - it should really be taken off the market and £200 spent on tidying it up. We didn't ask to move as we were only staying two nights and we liked the fact that we had a top floor room and didn't want to take the chance of getting a noisier room

Ok location & price; needs attention in some areas
Two night stay with friends. Fine for the price paid; however it was advertised with air conditioning & ironing board/iron in room. Neither of our rooms had this & the rooms got so hot it was uncomfortable to sleep/spend much time in. Bathroom was a bit tired.

lovely little hotel
Apart from the idiosyncratic check in times and the lack of a reception, this was a beautifully clean and smart hotel. Would definitely go back. A bargain.

Not worthy of 4* rating
This hotel is in a reasonable location, not brilliant but could be worse. We arrived to an miserable reception, felt more like we were a burden than a welcome guest! On the first night of the stay there was no hot water at all, when we spoke to reception we were told 'We know!' Not a lot of help there! We ended up using a shower in a friends hotel nearby. The second night there was hot water but they had removed all towels. No one at reception to ask and the same story the following morning. There is a phone to use to speak to them, when we questioned the towels we were told they are there and wouldn't listen to us saying not. Again we showered else where. When we checked out there was no one on site, we spoke to them on the phone and they just said leave the key. We attempted to complain about the stay but they weren't interested, clearly they were dodging unhappy guests. They will never get another penny from us!
