Superb guesthouse, highly recommended
My 2-night stay at this guesthouse was most enjoyable. The hosts, Tania and David, were super friendly and helpful. My room, a single, was small (no problem) but spotless and nicely furnished, with a view of the distant abbey ruins. Bathroom fixtures worked well, and amenities included facial tissue, an alarm clock, and an excellent body lotion (in a large dispenser). Breakfast was very good and served in nice surroundings. Although 8:30 is the suggested time for breakfast, earlier times are possible. (I had mine at 7:30, without problems.) The yogurt was especially fine. If I have one complaint, and it is a very minor one indeed, it is that all cereals (there was quite a wide selection) were Kellogg's, which is really the MacDonald's of cereals. A selection of more upscale cereals, comparable in quality to the yogurt (e.g., muesli, granola), would be welcome in the future. The guesthouse is located in a very quiet area, and it is only a short distance from the harbor, Pannett Park (which has a remarkable children's playground), and the train station (about 15 min, some of it uphill). I highly recommend this guesthouse.

A great place to stay
In a great position for the Pavillion and town, the Waverley was a great little place to stay. Tania and Dave can't do enough for their guests and were a very refreshing change to the impersonal chain hotels I've stayed in recently. Comfy and spotlessly clean it gets a big thumbs up from me.
