It is a very old hotel which has not been kept up. The most disgusting thing is the mold on the bottom of the shower curtain which makes the room reek of mildew. I definitely will not stay here again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Quality matches price
Staff was efficient. Hotel was comfortable for price and had some charm. Dining was unattractive.

Non imperial
I was really disappointed with the hotel, it looks okay from outside and the reception area upto the bar looks clean but the sitting area under the stairs are old and dirty due to wear and tear and even smells. The room I stayed in is so basic looks old and unkept due to its old stlye and decoration was basic and old. Whilst booking this hotel - no pictures of the rooms were shown. I am most disappointed with dinner, I paid for dinner with the impression that it will be continental and buffet only to be served a set menu which I couldn't eat. I stay two nights and I didn't go for dinner the following night having paid for it as the dinner was set menu like the night before.

Good public areas, poor rooms, restaurant.
The Public areas are attractive, spacious and well-kept, including lounge, garden and pool. The rooms are very poor - no comfortable seat, bathroom/plumbing antiquated and stained by dripping taps. WiFi drops out and frequently and is useless for serious use. I suspect that the hotel broadband is easily swamped. Restaurant is very down-market and limited - included breakfast at 7.5 Euros is just about right. There are only 2 dinner menus, both down-market buffets. Location is 7 minutes downhill to shops / restaurants - 12-15 minutes uphill back. Not recommended unless a very discounted room rate

Seems to be closing down
This was a gamble on going here after reading reviews. Hotel foyer and gardens really nice. Rooms are horrible. There is a sign at front of hotel showing it as closing down in December and being changed into a old people's home. So can understand why there not spending any money on doing it up.
