Huge room but need to drive to see sites.
The room was very, very large with a balcony that overlooked the thoroughfare and two queen size beds. The bedding was nice and the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom was large as well and there was a nice closet area for suitcases and a closet. There was also a table and chair as a short of sitting area and a desk/dresser. All in all the room was comfortable. The first room that we were given was a handicap friendly room and I did not care for the view or the bathroom. We were very graciously given a different room that was much more to our liking. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. If you are traveling to Galway on vacation as we were the location may be disappointing. You will need to take a cab or drive into Galway and then find parking which can be a challenge. The location is about 12 min driving do the historical city area that is so popular. The advantage of this location is that it is quiet at night which allows for a very good night sleep but it is something to keep in mind when booking. The breakfast was very nice with several options to choose from. Again, the staff in the restaurant was excellent and very helpful. If you are driving this is a perfectly good choice and at a very good price for the area. Just know that there is nothing of interest within walking distance and you will not be disappointed.

Staff Went Beyond Expectations--Great Stay!
We had quite an experience here--checked in early evening and got to our regular room which was nice and roomy. About 10pm we heard pretty loud music from the ballroom below us and thought it would likely end shortly--when it was still going at 11:45 and we could actually hear the song lyrics we contacted the front desk. They were hosting a Galway graduation party and we were told the party would go on until 2am. We asked for a room change--we were moved to the only room they had available--a handicap accessible room which was well equipped for an individual needing the features, but not particularly comfortable for us. We asked about a change to a traditional room in the morning for the next 2 nights. They indicated at the desk that they would try to find something and move our bags while we were out for the day. When we returned in the evening they had upgraded us to a suite with a living room, etc. Totally unexpected change that was really appreciated and they definitely went beyond the expectations we had. When we checked out after our 3rd night they in addition to the great change for the second and third night cut the first night charge in half. One couldn't ask for a better response to a difficult situation for them and us with the party going on. Would definitely stay again, and totally appreciated their service. Their customer service level should be commended.

Do not recommend
Was given a room with a broken toilet, awful smell, stained carpets, stained lampshades, leaking shower - just awful. The hotel was fully booked but the manager thankfully found another room that a guest just checked out of and was able to get it ready for us within 20min. This room was ok but not worthy of more than 3 stars. Overall the hotel is in bad shape, except for the lobby. Was told it will be undergoing renovation soon which would be the only way I'd stay there again.
