Rude and unhelpful staff
Staff were rude and unhelpful. When checking in we were not told what times breakfast and check out was, or given directions to our room. They seemed uninterested as soon as we said that we weren’t dining with them that evening. After checking the hotel website for breakfast times we went to breakfast around 9 to find that the buffet hadn’t been replenished at all, despite the waitress saying that they were ‘running low’, I even had to ask for a bowl! The same member of staff watched us struggle through the door with our bags on our way to reception whilst waiting to get through, and couldn’t even hold it open. We were made to feel an inconvenience throughout our stay, it was almost as if we were the staff! Overall the hotel was tired and stuffy. Note: there is extensive building work ongoing behind the hotel as a new spa hotel is being built.

Peak Break
Enjoyed a three-night break at this lovely hotel. Check-in was easy. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the bar and courtyard. It was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. The only reason that I marked down cleanliness was because there was some dust on the wardrobe and desk which had been there some time but everything else was spotless. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options. The Derbyshire breakfast was particularly good. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

Very happy stay
Stayed for 2 nights. All very pleasant. Good breakfasts. Lovely pub. Great room. Bit noisy (well it is a pub) and you do get police and ambulance sirens during the night. Bit pricey, but it is London. Good free wifi connection.

Character hotel with fantastic service!
A lovely hotel with fantastic accommodating staff - we had asked whether we could get our room early as we were attending a wedding and when we arrived they had gone all out to get our room ready! Great service!!
