The room and manor were beautiful but the bathrooms were a bit rough. The gardens around the castle were gorgeous and definitely worth taking a day to walk through!

The $99 room is small. Shared bathrooms across the hall - not bad at all. Be warned...NO WIFI, anywhere inside the castle. Breakfast ok. Quiet and peaceful....The castle itself and its beautiful grounds really make the stay worth it!

GREAT FUN place with no typical hotel ammenities
This is an amazing chance to stay at a real English style Country Manor Estate. This place won't be for everyone ... But those who appreciate history and are willing to live without some of the comforts of a normal hotel will get a real treat! This is a highly unique experience. The biggest issue I had is in the morning when I went to take a shower, there was no hot water. So, after a brief and uncomfortable douse in cold water and no shave, I was a bit miffed. However upon checking out when I mentioned this, I was told the hot water can take 10-15 minutes of running to warm up. Now that I know this (I only gave it 5 minutes) I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again. Sure the bathrooms are a bit rough looking and WiFi does not really work ... But its totally worth it for the experience to stay in such a beautiful and unique place. I came on business but am already looking to book a personal stay soon with my other half. This place is really special for those in the right mindset.

Needs Work
The Innkeeper is cheerful and friendly but the lamp in the room had a huge crack in it. The shared bathroom had water all over the floor. The room had no coffee or tea making appliances. There's no bar or even a sitting room for guests to enjoy in the evening. Morning coffee is so weak I went to a coffee shop for the real thing as soon as I left. Needs improvement.

Beautiful but not practical
And I like to stay in off the beaten path hotels. And couldn't get too much further off that path than the Castle at Skylands manor. The castle self is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are done up just perfectly, the outside is very well maintained, and it's right next to the Botanical Gardens. However the bathrooms are shared, and a little dingy looking, and had torn screens, and dead bugs on the windowsill. Our room was very small;the two of us could barely find places to put our luggage let alone move around each other to get ready in the morning. There is no Wi-Fi. Breakfast is served during a very short two and a half hour span in the morning. Parking is no where near the hotel and the walk back is not well lit. In the end, it was beautiful but not practical. And my boyfriend and I will not be staying there again.
